I’ve been living in Annerley for about a year now and have had Sankalp many times. I’ve always ordered takeaway, but yesterday I came in to dine with my partner.nnSankalp has been impressively consistent, always delivering great dishes and maintaining high standards without exception. Their portions are generous, their prices are fair, and the menu offers an excellent selection.nnThere’s a great mix of traditional classics and some modern fusion options too. Last night we had the Paneer Tikka and the Tandoori Chicken Dosa, both were fantastic, but I especially loved the dosa.nnFor mains, we had the Lamb Bhuna and a Dal with rice and naan. These were also excellent. The staff were super attentive and accommodating without being overbearing, and the whole experience was ideal.nnThere were plenty of Indian and other native diners in the restaurant, which is always a great sign that you’re serving authentic food.nnI absolutely love this place as a reliable go-to. Great work, team.
Hi team,nEvery time I order a chicken dish from your restaurant via Uber Eats, the chicken is extremely dry, hard, and very difficult to chew. While the gravy is always good, the chicken itself has been consistently overcooked.nI’ve ordered from you 5–6 times now, hoping it would improve, but unfortunately the issue has been the same every single time. Today I ordered Chicken Tikka and Chicken 65 — the Chicken tikka was so dry that I had to throw it away, which meant wasting $18. A few days ago, I also ordered a chicken curry for $25 and faced the same problem.nI kindly request that you please check the quality and doneness of the chicken before dispatching orders. I genuinely like the flavours, but the dryness of the chicken has made the experience very disappointing.nThank you for looking into this.
Authentic & delicious. Average service.nn‍↕7.5/10 CHICKEN 65 $16.95. Good spices. Very capsicum heavy. Tender chicken.nn6.5/10 RASAM VADA $13.95. Pretty standard. Nice texture. Good dipping soup.nn7.5/10 MYSORE CHATPATA DOSA, Masala on the side $16.95. I choose to get masala on the side so the dosa doesn’t get soggy. It’s more effort to add it manually but worth it for the crispy texture.nn7/10 INDIAN BHAJI DOSA Spicy $18.95. Not that spicy tbh but good.nn5.5/10 ONION CHILLI GARLIC RAVA $18.95. Bit too crispy-dry/overcooked. This dish is meant to be crispy, but not so crispy it makes your whole mouth super dry. Nice flavours though. The sauces help a little with the dryness but not enough.nn8.5/10 LENTIL LAMB $25.95. Thick and delicious. A nice daal meets curry combo. “Hot” spice was VERY mild. Wish it was more spicy. Will order extra hot next time. Waiter asked “are you sure?” on the spice level 4 times, for it to only be mild. Perhaps they’ve been scared by the Aussie palette before and turn the spice dial down, precautions.nn8/10 CHEESE CHILLI NAANn$6.95. Fresh green chilli. Great texture. Classic naan.nnThe server was not very communicative. We asked for everything to come as mains, but it did not, we had to remind the server half an hour later that we wanted everything together. Asked for spicy and didn’t get it.nnDelicious dosas, great curries. Coming back for the food
Delicious Indian food. Service was attentive and friendly. Indoor seating was a bit noisy when customers filled the restaurant.
