Sandstone hosted our daughter's naming day high tea and Cindy and her team were fantastic. Cindy was professional and helpful during our initial meet up and made everything super clear for me to arrange. We only had a short period of time to set up in between closing and the function start time but the team did a great job accommodating our requests and setting up on time. The food was absolutely outstanding. We were able to take leftovers home and the cakes stayed fresh for days. We had so many positive comments about the food. We'll definitely be back for more high teas!
We had a high tea at the cafe following the baptism of our daughter. It was absolutely amazing. The food was incredible, staff friendly and warm, and the space was beautifully put together. Cindy was delightful to deal with, and so accomodating when we had to reschedule the date at short notice due to illness. The chef was able to accomodate special dietary requirements for our guests as well. Highly recommend having an event and hiring the entire cafe!
This café offers a fabulous dining experience. The venue is spacious and has a light, airy feel to it which gives the impression that you could be eating outside. The staff are friendly and quick to get you engaged in their menu, a menu that has something for everyone. Portion sizes should satiate most hunger pangs and won't dent your wallet either. The quality of the food and drink I had was great and kept my taste buds entertained from start to finish. Do yourself a favour and drop in at Sandstone for a fab dining experience.

Really lovely setting, especially when sitting outside on a warm day. Excellent wine selection I do like scotchman vinyard wines, though. Food was nicely presented and tasty. The only criticism I have is that there were not enough wait staff on and although the girls that were on were absolutely beautiful, it took over 45 minutes to even receive our drink order 3 white wines and well over an hour for food to come out. I also feel this place would do so well if they offered a grazing board. Would definitely recommend this place if you're after a relaxed lunch or afternoon wine.
It was the perfect place to celebrate Gail+ Mick's 60 wedding anniversary with their beautiful family. And me Gail's sister The meals were yummy And the service excellent. Thank you all.
Calm, peaceful, relaxed, clean, fresh and beautiful! Just afew words to describe this cafe. Kind staff and delicious food and drinks. I really enjoy going here sometimes just for a nice drink, a cake or meal when I catch up with my mother. Great attention to detail and very reasonable prices for the quality.
We absolutely LOVE Sandstone Cafe, Cindy and the team are amazing, the food is always superb and the drinks have never disappointed! After many delicious breakfasts and brunches over the last 3 years I reached out to Cindy to see if we could have our wedding reception with them. Cindy was quick to organise a meeting with my husband and I, she gave us guidance on what courses we could have, what would suit the season and was delightful to work with. We had roaming canapés, a sit down dinner and a dessert buffet with a tab on the bar for everyone, with a specialty cocktail for the night. Cindy also offered to decorate and set up the layout for the cafe. I wasn't looking for elaborate or full linen table setups as we had a more relaxed wedding and Cindy absolutely nailed the layout and decorations - the cafe was gorgeous and it was great to not have any stress about getting the reception venue ready! The pricing for venue, bar tab and meals was excellent and service on the night was amazing, we had many laughs, a good dance and got so many compliments on the venue and food selection for our reception. Every time we have relatives down now they ask if we can go to Sandstone for food!
$18 for two burnt toasted ham, cheese and tomato sandwiches. Thanks for the comedy.
Met some friends there on Friday for lunch and didn’t have a booking. There were spare tables so that wasn’t a problem. As I only had 30 minutes for lunch, we decided it would be best to just have coffee and cake. Sadly the waitress said we couldn’t sit at the table if we were just having coffee and cake. Her reasoning was that if someone walked in for lunch they wouldn’t have the table available. I understand the principle here but we were only going to be there for 30 mins max …. 20 mins by this time. So we were made to sit outside in the cold. If I had more time I would have left and had my coffee elsewhere. To be honest I was quite appalled at this treatment I have owned cafes for over 10 years and would never treat anyone this way. It was my first time at The Sandstone and I had been looking forward to visiting…. Sadly it will also be my last.
