Friendly and calm staff. The fishes are very good. The chips are tasty and really good. The fans inside between the order counter and other inside-tables are really comfortable by cooling off the heat. The tables are pretty clean. And the heat windscreen covers are so comfortable to avoid sunburn.nnAlthough, the wind itself was quite annoyed to be bothered
I normally have a great experience here at Fishmongers. The food is regularly good and the Customer Service has been great up until tonight. We like to order our food using BOPPLE. But when our food was ready, nobody came to call it out. They just sat it on the counter and it started to go cold. While eating our food inside we noticed that phone orders & BOPPLE orders did not get called out through the window at the front of the shop. If you are doing the right thing and waiting outside for your order, you’re not going to be told that it’s ready if you’ve ordered by phone or using BOPPLE. Maybe after some training, the young staff will know to come and call these orders out through the front window as well. And then we can ALL enjoy Fishmongers nice, hot, fish and chips.
It’s hard to get good fish and chips. We have recently started coming to the waterfront at Sandgate as the choices are Redcliffe kept disappointing us. We’ve tried 3 of the places on the waterfront here and Sandgate Fishmonger is the best. Staff are always friendly, the snapper we order is battered beautifully with a light batter that is cooked perfectly. The calamari is also fantastic. Even the tomato sauce sachet is gourmet. We finish off with an ice cream cone. Love this place. Well worth our 44km round trip from home.
We go here at least weekly and get a serve of calamari and chips and it is scrumptiousnnHubby asked for extra calamari and they still charged same $15nnA feast for twonnLovely staffnnDefinetly the place to go
The calamari & chips were about as good as it gets. No rubber bands here, but properly cooked, tender, and flavoursome calamari. The tartare sauce was good too. However, the absolute star of the show was the pineapple fritter: perfectly fried, dusted with cinnamon sugar, and about as close to Heaven as you'll find on Earth. I insist you try one!nPS - the service was excellent too!
