The first time we have been here and will definitely return. The pho is very fresh and tasty, good clean aromatic flavours. Rice paper rolls also very good and appear to have been freshly made on order.
I would rate 0 star if I could!! The beef balls taste sour and some of the beef obviously turned bad which smell disgusting.. the broth somehow taste sour as well! I have told the lady that the food has turned bad and she offered to cook me a new one. However, the beef/beef balls still taste sour and smell weird…. The bun cha tasted bad too. Super dry pork skewers with weird taste. Will NEVER return.
This lovely place went beyond my expectations! The pho is very authentic, everything is fresh. The lady is very kind and asked if I want water as I was coughing. It’s definitely a must try if you are visiting Newcastle.Recommended dishesBeef Pho Noodle Soup
Customer service lady serving with a smile. The front said cash only but actually accepts card too. When I first read other reviews, the pho is either 5 or 1 star. I'll rate it 5 because it is fresh, good portion, and tasty! I thought the iced coffee came with a biscuit, but it did not; but it was nice and sweet. The fried rice tastes nice too. The toilet is clean but a bit smelly. They have an air freshener there. Parking: Street parking free after 5pm.
The restaurant was recommended to us by our Poppa, who has dined here previously on work trips. We were excited to experience the food and authenticity, that he was so excited about. We arrived and had to set up our own table. There were 14 of us. We had booked two days in advance?? We sat down the waitress didn’t acknowledge our existence. There was a wet dog smell coming from the back area and the glasses and cutlery were filthy. We ordered altogether and after close to 2.5 hours I demanded a refund for the salads we ordered. The meals that the family did receive tasted like moth balls and most was left on the table. I left the restaurant unfed as the cook took care of the takeaway orders and not our own. Fortunately my daughter was fed a bowl of steamed rice before we left. She waited an hour. It was the most horrible dining experience I have ever had. They need to close their doors. Do not eat there.
I used to come here fairly often until about 6yrs ago and their food was pretty decent back then. Today wasn't the case unfortunately. I am a big eater but I couldnt finish my meal today for several reasons. A very rare occasion for me. I hope you improve your service, cooking and most importantly freshness of ingredients. Good luck.
This place is rather questionable and would recommend if you’re seeking a meal and atmosphere steeped in absurdity. Pho has a funny taste, spring rolls taste like freezer burn. Owner was lovely - wish her the best.
We went here for dinner and it was absolutely amazing. We had prawn spring rolls, pork mince skewers, pho, beef lemongrass and chilli stir fry and garlic fried rice. All the meals were super delicious. The pho was the best I have ever had. I also loved the garlic fries rice. Highly recommend this little hole in the wall restaurant.
I should have trusted the negative reviews recently by other previous customers. This is my first time visited this place so I could not comment on how good it was in the past. But I could give my true and honest review from my visit today. If it was so good in the past, it is no where near its glory days now. The purpose of this review is to provide feedback for the shop owner to review for further improvement. And for other to know what to expect. At first, similar with the other reviews, there is a bad oder smell you will notice the minute you walk into the shop. It may be due to bad air circulations and the food smell is trapped inside the shop as the kitchen and the eating areas are connected. Second, we ordered beef noodle soups and spicy beef noodle soup. The spicy noodle soup has a very strange taste and smell. If you have tried this meal elsewhere, you will know that it is nothing near what it should be. The noodle and the meats seem like unfresh. And we had to return it after trying the first bite. The beef are also very dry and the noodle in the beef noodle soup also seems unfresh. The only bonus is the waitress is very nice and the service quality is good. Everyone in our group left with disappointment and half empty stomachs.
If you are looking for vietnam cuisine, make sure do not skip this one. It looks like a very small restaurant but very cozy and also they always did the best , tasty delicious Pho in town. We alwasy orders special beef pho . They also had chicken and vege tofu as well.
