Yes I think a more balanced view is required in reviewing this school.nWe have 2 daughters attending Sacred Heart and whilst some staff may be a little bit over the top in regards to the uniform issue, overall the standard of education is good and the for the most part the teachers, and certainly in our experience the year level co-ordinators, do really care about the students well being, mental health and educational outcomes.
Wanting to balance the reviews here. I’m not discounting anyone’s else’s experiences as we have a great choice of schools in Macedon Ranges and in my view Sacred Heart is one of them. From our first tour to our son now being in Year 10 we have had nothing but positive experiences at Sacred Heart. I think you get what you put into it and if your lines of communication are open and fair then that is reciprocated. I have had great working relationships with all his subject teachers and the wellbeing team. Every school has issues it’s not utopia but overall I think the school has been the best secondary experience we could have hoped for educationally and socially.
Unfortunately our son had a horrible few terms at this school!! Thank goodness we have taken him out! - Such a different child and much happier We had many issues some of them we were left in disbelief with how the senior coordinator handle a situation- very poorly and unprofessional. Could have been taken further.nCommunication was non existent with his teachers and overall our son would come home extremely sad and upset!nNow at a state school and he is thriving nnJust wanted to put a honest review - sorry that it’s not positive but please consider your options!!
This is school is to blinded by being greedy money hungry troll who focus to much on the uniform and don’t see the bulling problem at school you get tolled off for asking to go to the toilet in class but you can’t go at break because of year 12 calling in the toilet who threaten to kill and beat you up the teachers are mean and deal with situations in an unprofessional way I would rate it 0 stars if I could please consider other options
This school focuses way to heavily on uniform to the extent of almost putting presentation before anything else. Not only that but this school has a very poor way of dealing with serious situations and all you really get is a day or two in ISS for your actions which 9/10 kids want as they don't do any work and most of the time are unsupervised. Instead of expelling kids they will target them to the point where it is so hard to come to school, they have no other choice but to leave. The school says they care about students but if your uniform isn't perfect and all your work isn't complete, whatever your thoughts or feelings are is irrelevant. This school also mentions the fact that it is a bully free school but if you don't have any proof of the incident then it pretty much didn't happen but if you film it then you also get in trouble for using your phone so its a no win situation there as well. I know all schools have there holes but this one has more holes than a sieve and makes it a very unenjoyable place to be.
