Story

Saccardo Constructions has been part of South Australia's building and construction industry for 5 decades.

Late in 1956, four brothers emigrated to Adelaide from Italy and laid the foundations for what is now the Saccardo group of companies. Utilising the skills learned in the old country, they slowly built a company that now specialises in all aspects of the concrete contracting industry.

After leaving a legacy of concrete structures - many well known on the South Australian landscape - the founders are now reaping their rewards in retirement, handing the baton to a younger generation who have by way of dedication, expertise and modern management procedures grown the company into one of the leading concrete contractors in Australia.

Saccardo Constructions is a company with a proud history in South Australia's building and construction industry. In business now for some 40 years, Saccardo has built a strong reputation as one of South Australia's - and Australia's - best concreting contractors.

Saccardo Constructions does not want to take over the role of the engineer, but 40 years' experience in concrete laying - coupled with state-of-the-art equipment - means that Saccardo can provide high quality concrete foundations and flooring - with a minimum of fuss AND at very economical rates.This is particularly so with big jobs. We think you'll agree with us that we're more than concreters.

The Admin Staff consists of Adrian Saccardo who heads the Administration and Contract Management of the company. Adrian has followed his father into the family business, adding new skills by obtaining both a Business Management and Building Technology Diploma. Taking over the helm of the company in 1979 he has been steadily growing the firm until now it is one of the top major companies in the Large Commercial and Industrial sector.

Morrie Rescignano gained his Diploma of Teaching and Bachelor of Education before joining the administration staff at Saccardo Constructions in 1987. Following extensive in-house training, Morrie now heads the estimating and purchasing departments of the company. Morrie also controls the maintenance staff who keep the comprehensive vehicle and equipment fleet in top condition.

Anthony Grida completed his Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics at the University of South Australia. He joined the staff in 2010 and works extensively with Morrie, Adrian and the foremen to create a hassle free working environment.

Mission

As you will learn by exploring this site, Saccardo Constructions can provide traditional 'concrete only' services -- but more interestingly, can provide broad foundation and flooring consultancy and construction services to ensure that engineers and builders can not only reduce the cost of foundations and form work, but improve the integrity of structures as well.

With a proud history of serving South Australia's construction and engineering sectors for more than 50 years, it comes as no surprise that Saccardo Constructions has played a critical part in building some of the State' best-known structures.

As our experience and our investment in the very latest plant and technology have grown, so too has the complexity of our work.

We have played a pivotal role in the construction of such notable hi-tech projects as the Heysen Tunnel; Mount Osmond Overpass; Big W Southern Distribution Centre, Monarto; National Wine Centre, Football Park Northern Grandstand, Royal Adelaide Hospital Car Park; Liberty Towers Apartment Building and the Adelaide Airport.

On each of these construction sites Saccardo Constructions have laid footings, floor slabs, flat flooring and suspended car-park decks that combine extremely high technical requirements with exceptional quality of workmanship.
