They deserve a 0 star. Absolute awful company. Probably no point leaving this review as they supply all water in SA so have no competition so what choice do we have?nThere has been water gushing up through a man hole cover outside my house so much that it is actually slightly lifting the cover. Reportd it 10 days ago as it's running directly into the ponds at the local reserve and obviously it's wasting hundreds of gallons of water an hour. They are quick to say we should protect water supplies but they're happy wasting the thousands if not hundreds of thousand of gallons that has been pouring down my road the last 10 days ontop of all the heavy rain!nRang again to be told they prioritise jobs. This leak is honestly one of the worse o have seen. Not good enough! The guy on the phone was useless and trying to threaten me that they may need to turn supply off to sort it, obviously they might but it still needs fixing! Water bills are high enough. Perhaps we are paying for all their leaks. Again they have no competition so they don't seem to care at all.nThese big companies are quick to blame us small people for wasting resources, yeh right, nothing to do with how they run their companies.nAbsolutely awful!!!
SA Water provided me with a quote for a sewer extension & new water meter for a block i was dividing into 2. As there is no sewer running past one of the blocks we needed 27 metres of sewer. The quote was $28k, by the time we got all development approvals this was 11 months down the track. SA Water had to come out to finalize the quote & the new quote was $38k. So a $9k increase in 11 months. I questioned this price and after receiving a very scripted AI response email trying to justify the increased costs. I was then put onto SA Water advocacy team & spoke to a lady who was trying to tell me everything had gone 60-70% which is just an out & out lie, we went back & forth for 15 minutes getting no where. She said I could contact the Ombudsman if I wasn't satisfied. I contacted the Ombudsman & had 2 or 3 calls with them, then on the last call he tells that they have no jurisdiction on capital works pricing charged by SA Water why he didn't tell me that on the first call I have no idea. So bottom line SA Water can charge what ever they want & there is nothing you can do about it. You have to pay the full invoice up front before they will complete any work. I paid the $37k in early May. SA Water have came back & said they will try to complete the work by late July ,while earning interest on my $37k for 2 months.nSo another $300 they take off me for holding the funds for 2+ months in there account. I cant think of any other business where they can legally take the full Invoice price prior to any work being completed.
Poor. Will not allow me to be on the financial hardship policy after my bank NAB have decided to not repossess my home - August 2024 after losing my job. I asked for SA Water to disconnect the water last year - they wouldn't.nNow they're launching court action instead to recoup $1300. I'm vulnerable, have disabilities, not working and unable to drive. Not on Centrelink. Perfect paying history of paying from 1996-2023. They are victimising me for reporting wrongdoing.
1. There was no notification given to me and surrounding houses of maintenance on east avenue on holbrooks road near allenby gardens on 22 june 2025 or 23 june 2025. this was surprise on 23 june 2025.n2. No email or smsn3. I had to keep running the tap for 30 minutes and more to get the dirty water out. Who will pay for this damagen4. Electric appliances like washing now i have to redo with cleaningn5. Due to lack of notice, we couldn't make arrangements and family was sick alson6. The website didnt show this also.
Asked then to look at my water meter that was slightly sticking up above the concrete driveway, that i wanted to put a cover over. Came home today and they had been and bent the meter even further above the driveway making it even more of a tripping hazard.nNow being told to lower the meter will cost $1000.nExtremely displeased with service of these crooks
