For dinner Rutherford Hotel Nelson has two highly regarded restaurants onsite, with Oceano Panorama Restaurant offering an a la carte dinner menu and beautiful panoramic views, and Miyazu serving Japanese cuisine created using the freshest New Zealand produce.

We stayed at the Rutherford Hotel during a four day conference. The hotel was the perfection venue for a gathering of more than 200 people. The spacious rooms made the auditorium/theatre perfect for presentations and then quickly turned into a comfortable room for a banquet dinner.nAll the staff were super helpful, friendly and obliging to meet our needs - which were many. We couldn't fault the food and service, absolutely superb.nI would highly recommend the hotel as a perfect place for couples and families to stay, as well as for a business event, big or small. Thank you.
Stayed at the Rutherford Hotel for a night and it was an excellent experience. The team was lovely and efficient. Check-in was fast and easy. The room is spacious and modern, with a breathtaking view overseeing the garden and city centre. Good TV selections to keep us entertained even in a terrible weather. Shower is of a good pressure. Didn't try the dinner but breakfast buffet is great with good selection. Definitely recommended to anyone going to Nelson.
Nice clean rooms in a central location.nI do not recommend the main meals or room service if you have food requirements, such as not eating red meat. The fish was dry, hard and inedible. The other meals at our tables were underwhelming. Lovely staff, poor food.
Disappointed considering it’s a Heritage hotel. Expectations were higher. Building and room interior is dated and needs some renovation.nOne lift isn’t in service at the moment. Some nicer touches like body wash instead of soap cakes would be nice. I would not recommend this place for families. The beds are comfortable though.
Wonderful Valentines Package. Meals accommodation and the best Dance Band. Free Allan Scott champagne style. Lovely flowers by Willow Floral and design.nGreat friendly staff.nRecommended.
