What a wonderful experience at this cafe. After a 5km fundraising walk for Motor Neuron Disease, we booked a table for 7 humans & 3 pups. One of our party is a wheelchair user. The cafe has a wheelchair friendly ramp, disabled toilet and were kind enough to re-arrange some tables for ease of access. The dogs were given treats from the staff and nothing was a bother. The food was fresh, hot and tasty. A big thank you to the staff for the wonderful lunch & experience. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to locate ramp, wheelchair friendly toilets, very accommodating staff.
A wonderful place for a good morning coffee. Staff is friendly and does all of their best to provide an exceptional customer service. Wondering what happened to the Scrambled Chilli Eggs dish - same choice, same price...2 weeks apart Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp on the side
Dog friendly, can park your bike out the front and sit on the tables on the grass or in the big covered area in the shade. Brunch was fantastic. A lovely atmosphere, friendly service, efficient workers. A bubbler is nearby.
Not to sure how many times ownership has changed here, but itscurrent phase is one of my favourites over 5 years visiting. The burgers are excellent, really tasty and filling
Ruby’s is a popular spot with the morning cycling crowd so if you are there early be prepared to navigate through a plethora of Lycra clad middle aged men and their trusty steads, however, this seems to die down by mid morning and it’s usually not too hard to grab a table on their very large and well sheltered deck or out on the grass with stunning views of Bulli beach and the passing traffic on the bike track. Service is friendly and has an air of beach side casualness that you would expect from a caravan park cafe location. The cast of Home and Away would not feel out of place hanging at this south coast version of Summer Bay. The breakfast fare is tasty and well prepared. Poached eggs were runny and deliciously messy. All the ingredients seem to be thoughtfully prepared and fresh. As with most cafes the old staple of Turkish bread has long since passed its day in favour of the new kid on the block milk bread. It’s a close relative of brioche but not as sweet and used on most of the burgers and rolls at this cafe. Whilst everyone was happy with their meals our group was not hailing any sort of breakfast revolution. In short the food is great but not amazing. The only criticism would be that servings could be a little bigger for the price of some dishes. The breakfast bruschetta really wanted another egg for the price and maybe two pieces of bread instead of one cut in half. Initially I thought the $9 asking price for a green smoothie seemed excessive however it was a nice big offering and I was impressed with the flavour and amount. If you like something not too sweet to drink then this is the smoothy for you it’s actually more of a juice than a smoothy. All in all worth stopping in for a quick bite and there were no issues from staff with our little puppy dog being in the deck area which scored bonus points . It is also worth noting that we visited on a public holiday and to their credit did not apply a holiday surcharge.
Owner was horrible. Treated her staff poorly and swore at them when she was unhappy. There are better ways to motivate people. Will never eat here again and will advise others not to.
This place is amazing. Highly recommend trying the double cheeseburger. They also make a great coffee
As reviewed by family member Tara, we did a 5kms fundraiser walk along Bulli for Motor Neuron Disease, and on a whim, called to see if Rubys could accomodate us, including 3 dogs and a person requiring wheelchair access. The Rubys staff were amazing, shifted tables to create accessibility, gave fabulous service and interactions, and even gave the dogs a smacko. The food was delicious, and exactly what we needed after the walk. Thank you so much, would highly recommend!
Great spot for great coffee and a tasty light lunch.Food: 4/5
After staying in the adjoining caravan park, We had a great morning coffee and banana bread, it was one of the best around. But was extremely disappointed when our kids went down to get takeaway, a flathead pack and $10 of chips. They returned with 2 small boxes, 4 small, thin dry fillets of fish that definitely wasn't flathead and the cup size of chips looked empty in even this small box. $30 all up and had to go buy more food elsewhere
