It's a restaurant you just have to experience. The service is exceptional. The food is amazing. And the atmosphere including the choice of soft music is exactly what you want in a fine dining restaurant. Though it's a perfectly romantic setting for any couples, it suits families just as comfortably. It IS very popular so you'll have to book ahead to ensure you get a table.
Celebratory dinner with family and friends - 8 people, midweek and we booked a few weeks in advance. The service was excellent! Our waiter was attentive but not pushy and we had a laugh with him. Food was excellent and everyone enjoyed their choices. Would highly recommend
We visited for an anniversary dinner and weren't disappointed. We had the 4 course option with matching wines. There is a variety of meals to cater for all choices including vegetarian, fish, meat and chicken. All the meals were well prepared and reasonably sized. It was a very enjoyable evening.Food: 5/5
Atmosphere is better than food there, we liked the chargrilled steak, especially the garlic mushroom and rum chocolate parfait.
Fantastic good, great service, lovely atmosphere. We had the five course degustation which was fantastic. Highly recommended.
Simply put, Rubicon is outstanding. The wait staff and sommelier are great and the food is sensational. We had the "design your own" 6 course degustation with paired wine and each dish was perfect. My favourite was the gruyere souffle, which is definitely a fluffy cheesy cloud of goodness, while the Pernod cured salmon was delicately balanced and amazing.
When you arrive at Rubicon, you slide back in time. It is a traditional fine dining spot. The decor is probably nice for some and the quiet music is not out of place. It's just not exciting. We had 4 entrees, 4 mains and a bottle of wine. Alex who was pinned for knowing his wines. Did not disappoint. Astute and honest, he didn't waste our time by only recommending their most expensive wines. One of our dishes was the soufle. A bit doughy described by one and in my opinion underwhelming. The kingfish was fresh and flavourful. The eye fillet was blue when ordered medium rare. I let them know in the most polite way and that I wasn't complaining. Was told "he'd let them know" But.. The wine was delicious. The service was good and the food was expensive. I won't be back, only because it's just not for me anymore. My palette has moved on and I like to have fun when I eat. Not feel like I'm in a library. Hats off to the staff for the service. The chefs for the food. Late!
Excellent meal from start to finish. The wait staff were top notch, the atmosphere was a very pleasant and sophisticated which made a great dining experience. Highly recommended for a special dinner, event or celebration.

Definitely one of my favourites. Staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. We had the 6 course degustation which was definitely plentiful! The courses are delicious. Well plated with a wide range of ingredients that really worked well together. We liked that we were able to choose 6 courses from the whole menu. Would love to come back again.
