3/8/24 - 3 starsnnI have come here before for family dinners and functions and was quite impressed with the quality of the seafood. Therefore, when I came here for yum cha, I had high expectations, but, I'm not sure why I expected any sort of reasonable pricing.nnService is perfunctory as this place gets very busy on weekends. They have the usual hustle and bustle style of yum cha with carts which is nice. You can find all of the usual dishes and the overall quality is okay but each will set you back $11. Tea is also $2 per person and even water is $1pp is that even legal??.nnHar gow: S, 8/10. Decentlh flavourful prawns but the rice paper was a bit thick and drynnScallop dim sum: A, 7/10. Not that flavourful. Same texturennShu mai: SS, 9/10. This one was actually very good. Tender, savoury and moist.nnChicken feet: A, 7/10. Had a bit of a weird after taste. Maybe too much wine.nnRadish cake: A, 7/10. Not very crispy or particularly tastynn Fried sticky rice dumpling: SS, 9/10. A new favourite dish. Crispy yet chewy with a nice stewed beef filling.nnRice paper wrapped dough sticks: S, 8/10. Had to order this but was decent. Crispiness of the youtiao was there
nnRoyal Treasure Chinese Restaurant in Burwood is truly amazing! The yum cha here is top-notch and can easily compete with any yum cha restaurant in Australia, and even rivals many in Hong Kong itself. They offer a huge selection of dishes, including all the classics like siu mai, har gow, and char siu bao, as well as some more unique offerings. The flavors are authentic and delicious, and the dishes are always fresh and well-prepared.nnThe staff are very attentive, ensuring your tea is always topped up and that dishes are served promptly. Be prepared for a wait, especially on weekends, as people line up to eat here; the restaurant is very popular for good reason. Even on weekdays at lunchtime, it can get quite busy, so it's best to arrive early or be patient. Despite the wait, the quality and variety of the yum cha make it well worth it. This place is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic yum cha!
A typical large Chinese restaurant that serves decent seafood but at a pretty price. It’s very popular on the weekends for yum cha which is good but not the best.
Lobster is decent. Abalone is a bit hard to chew. Steamed coral trout is perfect . Perfect tenderness and texture.
Our family's go to Yum Cha place. Plenty of parking in the basement levels. All the dishes are your classic Yum Cha fare - done right! Service is always polite and professional.
