Firstly, I want to say the food and views at this place are lovely and are not the reason for my 1 star.nMy family and extended family organised my grandmothers 90th birthday lunch at the Royal Motor Yacht Club. We wanted it to be a special day for her, considering it was a busy Saturday at the club.nThings were going well until Mel one of the workers there- possibly manager came up to our table in a huff and yelled at me to tell the 4 kids in our group to be quiet as she was not able to hear the orders being taken at the bar. She was extremely rude and before I could respond she stormed off in a huff.nI am always one to tell the kids in the family to keep it down or to stop running around in public, but this time they were doing nothing wrong. They were laughing and joking amongst themselves beside our table.nEven if they were being loud, it's a club - people are meant to have a good time with their families and children are entitled to this privilege aswell. And we were a large group spending thousands of dollars.nAfter that horrible encounter, we were constantly on edge the rest of the day wondering if Mel would come back out and verbally abuse us over something else. Thanks for ruining my grandmothers 90th Mel!nRemember Mel, families come to the club for a good time. You have lost our future business.
Last night we went to the dining room. The view was exceptional. The service was excellent by Mel. She was very attentive And friendly. The entree of scallops and squid was divine. My Husband had the duck and he said it was the best he ever had and the portion was very generous as was my prawn linguine very light and tasty. We will definitely be back. Thanks, Mel for a wonderful experience.
Beautiful lunch at The Galley. Everything was delicious and the staff are amazing. Can’t beat the view. Going back soon!
In a group of 5 for lunch at the RMYC Port Hacking today we had a wonderful time. All meals were delicious, generous servings and the staff are always happy & courteous. Not to forget the amazing view - our guests were very impressed!
I was really looking forward to coming back to RMYC to try the new caterer, after the last visit for an evening meal was terrible from the previous caterer. We went for a lunch on Saturday so was not busy. Service was friendly, food variety was just what you got at your local pub. Not a lot different. With a new caterer in place I thought there would be more imagination of some spectacular meals. Food was presented better than previous caterer, all was served hot at least. we had a child’s meal cheeseburger and chips and a barramundi with pumpkin purée and roast pumpkin, way too much overloaded with pumpkin and more pumpkin.nI wouldn’t rush back here. I came for the new menu and view but was disappointed. Need some more choices of food.
