With the Royal Brisbane Show Ekka being held for the first time in over 2 years my wife & I had the opportunity to enjoy a day walking around taking in everything that the Ekka represents. Included during our time there we had the pleasure of visiting the Royal International Convention Centre to see the Natural Fibres Fashion Parade presented by Channel 7, an outstanding event that showcases the various fashion houses & even includes fashion presented by TAFE students & other area's of the industry. The Royal International Convention Centre is a state of the art building which can cater for various types of commercial & corporate functions. When the Ekka is on both the lower ground floor & first floor areas of this establishment have numerous exhibits in place including the cake display, which are always something to spend some time looking at. There is something for everyone's tastes & needs. The Royal International Convention Centre has escalators that take you up to the first level & there are lifts in place for people with all types of disabilities. All types of food & drinks where available in this area. The Ekka Volunteers ‍ in this building did a wonderful job of ensuring that everyone enjoyed their time looking at all the exhibits on display. Can't wait for 2023 to go back again to the Ekka & enjoy everything that this special occasion provides. I have also included an assortment of photos of our day at the 2022 Ekka! Enjoy!
Loved it . It was awesome how some of these things were made . A sensory delight for the eyes. With pieces worthy of a place in a sculpture museum.
Beautiful facilities, perfect for holding large events. Very accessible infrastructure.
Nice venue. Lack of parking at the convention centre though. I got there around noon and it was full. I ended up parking down the road in another paid car parking building which was free for the first hour. $15 for the first hour after that.
Nice venue but the food setup doesn't work well. Morning tea all cakes, punishment table for dietary restrictions, 40 minute lunch break, 20 minute wait, 2 stations for 600+ people. Staff were great though, friendly and efficient.
I have attended a lot of conventions, corporate events and dining nights here and it always seems to be a great time. During corporate events and conventions, the staff are always around to direct you and help you and the parking is easy to navigate to in a hurry. Drop off zone is very helpful and there is a lot of space for all sizes of events
For a venue to hold a disability conference you'd think they'd update the bathroom doors to a more accessible design. Drop off point was well managed by friendly attendants
I was part of the shut down, once again. It was all done with precision. Those who had there jobs performed as desired and the halls where big enough to hold many different performances and can also be used as a place for meetings and presentations for winners of awards. Show crew was the agency I worked for. And there team was great. If you haven't been there before I'd recommend it for business presentations and award presentations.
Massive venue for all size functions. Food at the event I attended was a bit underwhelming.
I attended a Teach Queensland exhibition which I enjoyed. It was my first time there but with GPS it was easy. I was pleasantly surprised about the parking available in the main historical building. It was a flat walk to the ground floor and an escalator or elevator ride to the first floor. The exhibition I attended was very spaciously laid out, enough room for everyone. It had a little coffee kiosk with tables and chairs laid out. The seminar room had high ceilings and gave a roomy atmosphere in spite of the fact that it was packed with people according to the latest Covid19 regulations. For me it was a very pleasant experience. This building is also wheelchair accessible.
