Nothing like having a relaxing drink in a piece of Australia's history. The Royal Hotel Randwick is absolutely spectacular with beautiful decor in both the main bar and dining room. The staff in both the main bar and the dining room were fantastic. Very comfortable seating and just a brilliant spot to watch the world go by.
Unhygienic Room with Mould - Not Impressed!nnI recently stayed at the Royal Hotel Randwick, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. While the hotel’s location is great, the room I stayed in had black-looking mould on the ceiling right above the bed. This is a major health concern, and I was disappointed that the hotel staff didn’t seem too concerned when I mentioned it. It felt like they deliberately assigned us this room because we were only staying for one night. Such conditions are unacceptable for any accommodation.nnOn a positive note, they did allow me to check in at 11 am, which was helpful. However, the overall experience left much to be desired. I would not recommend this hotel unless you can be sure the rooms are mold-free. It’s essential to prioritize cleanliness and hygiene for the well-being of guests.nnAdditionally, we had dinner at the bistro, and it was alright food.
I haven't stayed here so I can't comment on the rooms or accommodation aspects of this business but I have eaten at the hotel bistro with a few family members and thoroughly enjoyed our experience.nHaving lunch here with my infant son was a pleasant and convenient experience as the baby changing facility was easy to find and close to the dining area.nI had the royal beef pie with mashed potato and I loved it. The pie was nice and crunchy on the outside, the inside was tender, and both the mash and gravy were delicious. Serving size was generous.nMy dad had the ravioli with pumpkin and asparagus but found it a bit sweet and heavy. I also tried it and agree with his comments.nMy mum had the chicken schnitzel which was fresh, juicy and delicious. Also a decently sized portion.nMy grandfather had the beer battered fish and swapped out the chips for mashed potato. The fish had a light, crispy batter with the perfect amount of beer so that you could actually taste it, without being overpowering - this is a good option for a light meal!nStaff were kind, friendly and very attentive, especially when waitstaff walked over to our past our table and my son waved at them!
I did not stay here but had dinner. The food is amazing sorry no photos. Chicken wings, pizza and chicken schnitzel. All of the staff are really happy and friendly. the meals that came out that kitchen were huge helpings.
Their bistro has some good lunch optiond and nice place for large group socials. I tried their beef nachos which was a decent portion size and taste.
