Located in the iconic laygon street brunswick, presenting the highest quality Indian cuisine along with the best service @royaleaterybrunswick , Offering a wide range of the most succulent and traditional Indian dishes. Every dish that came out of the kitchen on our table spoke of a story, a tale of joy and wholesomeness- all dipped in the choicest gravies and the most aromatic spices. The restaurant is spotless and tidy, with plenty of space both inside and out.We had Palak Chicken, it was fantastic! Fragrant, tasty, lovely chicken, and it looked wonderful. We also chose Navratan Korma and the Chefs Special Biryani. We also opted for the mixed grill tandoori platter that came with the special Aloo tikki for starters. Something that just can’t miss here is The Dessert, Shahi Tukda..crispy bread dipped in sugar syrup and Topped with Saffron Milk. The portion sizes were good, with each dish served in a copper pot to ensure it stayed hot and the perfect presentation was enhanced by the fabulous flavours of each dish. Having sampled its delights it is easy to see why this restaurant is so popular with local residents and if you haven't tried it yet you are missing out on a treat.
Royal eatery was my favourite Indian restaurant, and I was excited to order from them again now they have finished their renovations. I raved to my friend about them, and we just door-dashed a delivery. Royal Eatery have never been cheap, but it seems they have become even more expensive as we paid $100 for three curries, a rice, three naans, two lamb cutlets and some samosas. The Tandoori lamb cutlets, normally a succulent delicacy that would not be out of place on MasterChef, tonight were tiny carbonised rocks on a bed of lettuce. The Naan was stone cold - an impressive feat considering the stack we ordered, that were sealed into a thermal bag. The Zeera Aloo, instead of being the fluffy bites of concentrated flavour we have received in the past, are al-dente to the point of being almost crunchy. It also had a burnt after taste, perhaps from the fiery death that the lamb cutlets suffered. The Samosas are as good as I remember, but the rest of the meal was an absolute disappointment. Carbonised rocks formerly known as lamb cutlets, and container for scale.
I had Amritsari thali and it was mouthwatering by presentation and very delicious in taste. The staff was also very professional, friendly $ welcoming. I recommend to every reader of this review to get ROYAL EATERY on your list and try it once atleast. I am hoping i will enjoy my upcoming visits here.
The restaurant was empty at 7pm on a Friday night. Should have taken that as a clear warning sign that the food wasn't going to be very good. Unfortunately my suspicions were right. The entree poppadams were stale. The vegetable curries including the korma and the jalfrezi had very odd combination of vegetables including capsican and carrot and mushrooms and had no potatoes at all nor any tomatoes. Not a traditional curry at all . Really very disappointed. The one staff member was very nice tho.
The best Indian foods I've ever had. I love the mango chutney; it's not very sweet, and there is a hint of herb to it as well. As for the butter chicken, the meat was tender and succulent, sucked in the aromatic curry sauce. It pairs nicely with the naan bread, which is thin and crispy on the outside. The service was super friendly. If anything needs to be adjusted, it is the mint yogurt; it was slightly salty for me.
Just happened across this place, Looking for lunch anywhere that was open. The menu is all the favourite Indian meals and a few I hadn't seen before. Anyway I ordered a chicken something, rice and Nan bread. The chicken had a little spice but beautiful, the rice was perfect and Naan bread to die for. The waiters are ready to help with the menu and almost come across shy but nothing was a hassle. The restaurant is clean and well layed out with plenty of room between the tables. Over all the meals was very nice and filling and cost about what you'd spend at Macca's for lunch. I'd love to go with friends.
I ordered last night through Uber eats Kadhai paneer and salad and garlic naan . Kadhai paneer quality was really disappointing sorry to say that but have to be honest . Salad no onions , no tomatoes just spinach and bit cucumber price - 5.99 something . So , I don’t think anything I ordered last night was worth price .
hey all i am not a putting a review kinda person but there food is really delicious, pefect and well cooked . i have been eating there food from couple of months and it always comes up great .
Been meaning to eat here for a while. The restaurant is recently under new management. There are still signs of settling in alcohol isn’t on offer yet and the menu doesn’t line up 100% with the web site, but they’ve made a good start. The food was very tasty. We ordered family favourites, including one that’s off-menu, and we enjoyed them all. Flavour is good, and spice levels were reasonable. Pakoras were a highlight — the best we’ve had. Rice portion is generous. We ordered vegan for the whole table, and staff were very helpful in accommodating. Looking forward to a return visit or ordering takeaway to work our way through other parts of the menu.
It's great that this place offers a vegan menu and some of the food is fantastic. But I ordered a Kashmiri biryani tonight and it was a colourless, overcooked rice pudding that looked nothing like the stock photo on the menu. So disappointing.
