Royal Cricketers Arms

About

A place to enjoy great food, cold drinks and great company The Royal Cricketers Arms has plenty of tradition and we are looking forward to seeing you.

Story

First licensed in 1880 the recently refurbished and heritage listed Royal Cricketer’s Arms pub in Blacktown caters to all visitors, whether it’s local Blacktown business folk, travelers or residents as it did more than 100 years ago. If you’re looking for pubs in Blacktown with a traditional feel, this charming establishment has not been affected by our fast moving society and still relies on great service and great pub food in relaxed leafy surrounds. That means you’ll find no pool tables, no gaming room and no TAB – just great service and a great atmosphere!

"First licensed in 1880 the heritage listed Royal Cricketer’s Arms hotel in Blacktown is a crowd favourite with locals as well as visiting guests, just as it was more than 100 years ago.The pub is open 5 days a week with a modern and affordable menu, allowing guests to dine by the original fireplace in winter or in our spectacular beer garden among 100 year old willows and a spectacular jacaranda."

Outside dining is not the best depending on where you are seated, All decent seating areas were reserved. The only area which was not reserved in which we chose to sit constantly had tree leaves falling into my food and drink. Service was prompt and friendly A1. food was nice, nice atmosphere with a rustic feel. There is a carpark at the rear of the venue, not overly large but the other option is roadside parking. It would be nice for all dining table areas to be paved to be as comfortable as the popular highly reserved areas. Otherwise a nice experience.
Had my son's 1st Birthday here on the weekend. Staff were great, friendly and very accommodating. We had the feasting menu for our guests and the food was fantastic and so delicious. Ourselves and our guests thoroughly enjoyed it. I only wish we had ordered more. The venue was perfect and rustic and the band and entertainment we hired added to the wonderful atmosphere. I would definitely go here again for a casual lunch or dinner or, hire the venue again for future events. Thank you for making my son's 1st birthday a memorable one!
Visited the Royal Cricketers Arms for lunch today and left quite disappointed. The establishment looks quite nice, and the staff were friendly however the selection of beer was far below average, no local craft beers, and no decent spirits. $11 for a Johnny Walker Black - ridiculous, the bottle is only $50. I was also unable to order said Johnny Walker neat, the bartender said they have to serve it with ice. So I just didn't bother. Ice dilutes and ruins the flavour of whisky and personally I enjoy drinking my whisky over 45 minutes or so, I'm not here to get drunk. At those prices - how can you feel you have the right to dictate how someone enjoys their beverage? Ordered a British style pie for lunch - I assumed this would have been a pot pie however what came out was a tiny portion of beef and potato served in what looked like an Army ration kit, with a piece of puff pastry sat on top, like a cracker. What a horrendous experience, such a shame because from the outside while walking in I was telling myself this is going to be great! Won't be returning.
Highly recommend this place for your next function. Not only affordable but the staff were amazing! We had our vowel renewal here a few weekends ago and everything was fantastic! Staff were amazing, very accommodating and the food was delicious. Big shout out to the staff and management who worked our event, you executed our vision perfectly. Guests loved the rustic feel of this venue.
My family and I went down to blacktown for my sons birthday not knowing the area we didn't know where to eat or have a good time when it came to food. I wish we went to this venue more often while staying the food was exceptional we ordered a variety of food we aren't afraid to spend a little .ore for great food and indeed they delivered the food was the best we had and the money we spent at the venue we spent the same and a little more at others and couldn't believe the difference when we ate here we are highly considering coming back and can't thank them enough for the experience we had compliments to the chefs the only thing I could suggest to make the experience better if I can is for the staff to have a little better communication where to sit and order we came in a little confused didn't know we had to order at the bar or the dress code for the venue even though I asked the questions. But apart from that which mind you isn't a complaint by any stretch its just more of a suggestion if you haven't been here before. I hope management can pass this on to the staff as they do need this recognition for the fantastic work they provided for us
Had dinner here after spending the day at Sydney Drag-way for the Sydney 4WD and Adventure Show. I ordered the chicken schnitzel with the added aussie extra. Photos attached show my meal:
The place is great with historical structure. It is quite and relaxing with good food and bears. I loved the benches near the fireplace. There is also plenty of room outside from small gatherings to large one. Plenty of Parking is available on street.
Great ambiance and convivial bar staff. Is a card only venue. Food is excellent especially the pork nuckle with mash and sauerkraut. Licensee is hard working touching base with all customers. Great heritage venue in lovely setting.
Beautiful old pub, ambience is nice, fireplace, food was delicious. I had the slow cooked beef pie. Staff are friendly and service is good.
What a beautiful old place filled with do much character and history. Staff lovely and cheerful. The food was good, with a varied menu and good prices. The London pie was really good and a perfect size. Lots of people and all spread out lots of different sections. Being there when the jacaranda trees were in full purple bloom made it even better. I think this may be somewhere to visit more often.
