We orderwd a small lamb shank and a steak sandwich. Both were great and came in a huge portion. The lamb just melted as soon as you take a bite. Chips that came with the sandwich were very crispy! The roll for the sandwich was a bit soggy and steak with overly saucy but still made a good meal.
We stopped for lunch en route to Napier... We were a large group of around 12. We had a lot of dishes .. and everyone liked their dishes . The steak and the ribs were yummy. I ordered the beef burger. It was juicy . The onion rings were great too. But the best item was the fried Banana for dessert. It was too bloody good. Not to be missed. The staff were patient and friendly. Will definitely visit if I were passing through.
We had the chicken schnitzel with bacon, mushroom and garlic sauce- one with salad and fries, the other with veges. Both delicious! We followed up with apple crumble with cream, ice cream and fruit, and also a strawberry cheesecake also with ice-cream, cream and fruit nGreat service and atmosphere.
Top front of house and wait staff. Sense of humor and demeanor made the evening all the more enjoyable. Great menu variety and tasty to go with it. Awesome hospitality.
An old fashioned sports bar, tv's with Sky Sport running. TAB available as well. Good solid meals at a reasonable price. Cold drinks and even warm beer, if you wanted an English soup. Friendly staff who remember you from last year. Lovely really.
