I have been waiting so long to try this place as last time I tried it was closed. Boy was I disappointed. Was so excited when I saw lemon meringue waffles on the menu, advertised as having meringue crumb which I assumed was be small crumbled bits of meringue. Nope I'm assuming the meringue was the white dust over the plate that just looked like icing sugar. When I went back to the counter to ask where the meringue was the girls looked at me like I was dumb and said it doesn't come with meringues. They couldn't understand my frustration that it's advertised as being lemon meringue but doesn't have meringue, false advertising!! The lemon "curd" was hidden under a thick layer of cream and was basically none existent too. While it tasted okay it didn't live up to my hopes. As for my coffee I ordered a caramel latte, could not taste the caramel and it was not a latte it was half foam lattes are not that foamy.
I don’t usually write reviews but my sister and I were so disappointed in our experience this morning that we feel this review needs to be made for business improvement purposes. Firstly we were advised that there would be a 20-30min wait for food which we were OK with. After over an hour we asked the staff how long our food would take as we only had just received the drinks we ordered. We were told told it would not be much longer. Once the food arrived we were taken aback by the quality and size of the meals in comparison to the price. The food was over cooked, flavourless and there no condiments such as sauce or butter to use on our meals. Cutlery and water jug were filthy. I had to ask the waitress to clear the plates from multiple tables around us as there were flies starting to gather around due to how long they had been sitting there. A couple of plates were cleared but not the mugs on the tables and in fact, I saw new customers clearing tables quite a while after I had mentioned this to the staff so they were able to sit there. Despite the known waits on food, there was only one staff member left for 40 or so minutes on her own to serve customers etc. There are still a lot of tables yet to be cleared and flies everywhere as a result. Unfortunately we will not be returning and I hope for the sake of this small business, this feedback is taken on board and improvements can be made to benefit its customers.
I accepted being told it was a 15 minute wait before we even ordered. However, I waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for my food and drink. I patiently sat there while the other person at my table finished their meal. Then we saw the staff cleaning up, we had to ask them where my food and drink was. They forgot to make it. The quality of the food and service is not worth returning for. Reply to the owner. Visited on 4/1/23 at 9am. Yes you’re right it’s wasn’t busy at all. Yes my complaint is legit.
The place is nice overall. We ordered strawberry waffle, pancake and coffee. The waffle is really great but the pancake is nice but dry. The coffee used Merlo beans and taste nice.
Had the big breakfasts. Everything was good, but we had to ask for the butter and syrup as it didn't come out with our food. Ice coffee was nice, but not very cold. Service was a little bit slow but that's OK.
Unfortunately, it took 1 hour to get our drinks served and longer for food. My crepe was nice, but the chicken and filling was dry. From what we could see, the staff seemed quite young inexperienced and under supported. We didn't say anything to them as this wasn't going to benefit them at time, they knew they were behind. It is a small kitchen, so maybe a smaller menu selection would work better. It also seemed like there was no prep work done making things very, very slow. Disappointed I was looking forward to this.
How disappointing My husband and I ordered through Uber Eats so we can have a nice brunch at home for our wedding anniversary The estimated delivery time was 40 to 50 min, which we didn't mind. It ended up taking probably over and hour and a half before it was ready for pick up by the driver though And when it finally arrived, items were missing The pancake stack we ordered didn't come with any ice cream or strawberries as advertised, which made the pancakes seem quite dry. The extra pancake ordered with the big breakfast was missing in action as well The chocolate milkshakes tasted more like coffee We did end up getting a refund from Uber for the missing items Such an awful first impression. 100% not worth the $$$ Edit: Based on other reviews, ours was definitely not a one time occurrence. Management full of excuses "it was an unusually busy" day being the main culprit with all the replies to reviews
I have been here a couple of times now as I understand that sometimes places can have bad days but I have had a 1 star experience every time. Food and drink was over an hour wait. It was not busy The waitress tried to serve a hot pot of black tea by passing it directly over the pram of my friends baby. I feel bad for the staff because they are polite and I think have the best intentions, but they clearly need some proper training. I don’t think I’ve ever had such bad, inefficient service anywhere else before. The one star is for the banoffee crepe, which was actually pretty yum. Honestly looking at other reviews it’s a miracle this place is still in business.
Absolutely abysmal. I waited 40 minutes for my coffee and my partner waited 50 minutes for a milkshake. Our food took over an hour to come out a BLT and mushrooms on toast. The staff were apologetic but clearly very stressed and overwhelmed. The consistent uber eats orders seemed to take precedence and was used as an excuse for the long wait. When it came out, the food was fine; neither came on ciabatta as advertised but we were just happy to get our food. Given other recent reviews, our experience doesn't seem to be unusual and we will likely not return.
Went with my friend for brekkie. We were told it would be a while and we were ok with that. But then tables that ordered after us started getting their drinks before us, which was annoying. The food took about 40 minutes for two meals. I thought it was because the staff seemed very young and were maybe out of their depth, but reading other reviews, service seems to be an ongoing problem. The coffee was pretty good. The eggs benefict was also good, though I personally shouldn't have ordered them on a waffle - the sweet base for eggs and salmon wasn't right for me.
