We are a family of 7 and went to join the 6pm service. When we arrived no one said hi, and they all stared at us. We literally just stood on the door way unsure where to go. Someone finally chased us to the car stating that the service was more tailored to those who have trouble sitting for a normal service and there is another church believe down the road.nI can not believe how under prepared the church was to meet new families.
They have a soccer club that is abusive, rude and offensive. One of the team members tried to fight an elderly lady, had to call the police. Is this how your church should act?
Just moved to Brisbane, and Rivers was the first church we visited and we didn't need to look any further. The services, preaching and people are honest, real and accepting and it shows from the moment you walk in the door. A community of people honestly trying to live out what it means to follow Jesus and share that with others. I dare you to come and hear the relevant down to earth preaching, meet others in your stage of life at morning tea and not feel the presence of God in these people and us soon, too that call themselves Rivers Baptist.
My mum and I have been to this church for years. This is a community of wonderful caring people who love the Lord. Always ready to welcome new people.
Going there since 2012, amazing community always ready to assist with all they can offer. This place makes me wana be a better person.
