Great tapas venue, busy place, friendly staff great service, delicious food, we ordered the lamb back strap, lobster cocktail with fancy sauce, caviar & crispy lettuce, soft shell crab with chipotle mayo, oysters with green apple pearls, cucumber.
The dinner was fine and the staff was friendly. But, the dessert was amazing! They had some wonderful looking ice cream, which tasted very good and the chocolate tart was great.
Absolutely loved this wine and tapas bar! Lovely and attentive staff serving tasty food. We ate everything too quickly to snap pictures but here is the scallops with leek, kale and a delicious parsnip purée. I also had the pomegranate margarita which was a refreshing treat for a marg lover like me.
We had the tasting board and the softshell crab, overall not bad just a bit heavy due to most food being deep fried - mussels were deep fried too, an interesting way to cook it but not sure if it's a good way; the cured trout taste better without the green apple tapioca - tastes like kids toothpaste; olives are quite sour citron marinated. The highlight of the tasting board is the sweet potato, it is yummy. Softshell crab is tasty too. We also had the tiramisu as dessert and it doesn't taste good... doesn't have much flavour and the texture seems like margarine, feels very artificial. The best part is the chocolate decoration on the top.
It has been at least 5 years between visits to Merimbula and Ritzy was our first stop for dinner. The food seem to be even better than what i remembered. Of course being in Merimbula we started with some local oysters. As consistent with every tapas dish thereafter, the incredients were top shelf and meticulously prepared. I also loved the japanese influence in many of the dishes. They also have a solid drinks list to pair up the food. The service was prompt and efficient which to me is a plus as well.
Absolutely great food and staff. The serves of tapas are actually main sizes so don’t make the mistake of ordering too many dishes to share!! Staff also motorcycle riders so plenty of tis on places to tour/see on the back roads. Will make the trip back to Merimbula to enjoy the restaurant again.
After enjoying Ritzi for years, there was nothing very special about the restaurant last night leaving us quite disappointed. Although there were other things that weren’t great including the service, the biggest disappointment was the food. Hard to explain other than it was cooked without any love. Most main dishes just didn’t hit the mark and the desserts were the same. Like the Belgian waffles that were soft and doughy with a strange toffee sauce.
Oysters were absolutely to die for so good got both kilpatrick and natural, nice freindly staff, a goto visit in merimbula dont miss out!
Truly amazed at the simple but deliciously fresh & vibrant tapas restaurant in Merimbula. Was only in this beautiful town for the night, and so glad we came here for dinner. The decor is pretty simple & clean, but has a lot of warmth to it. Why you come here though is because of the fresh seafood options at abundance. We ordered the Octopus which was sensational. Beautifully charred and seasoned with a nice dollop of cream & cheery tomatos. The salt & pepper fries squid was perfect - tender, crispy & seasoned on the outside, and fresh! The arancini balls were also simple but delicious, and were accompanied by a lovely mint sauce. I would travel to Merimbula just to come here again! They use their local seafood catch perfectly, and know how to keep things simple & delicious!
Excellent meal and service. We had a lobster special that was good but not amazing but all other dishes were perfect.
