The store is definitely overdue for a renovation, the exterior looks like it was built in the 70s and definitely needs a facelift, the interior feels really crammed especially at the checkout area, I had difficulty finding certain items in the aisles because the layout of products are all over the place and are not kept systematically
Will be sad to see the old store go Can't wait for the new one to be built.
An embarrassment to the Ritchie's brand. The store resembles something out of the 80's with prices that are significantly over inflated. The old ladies are rude and slow and clearly happy to serve cigarettes smokers as soon as they turn up over those who have been waiting in the express line for 5 minutes. If you are desperate go here, otherwise drive on up the road to the Baxter Woolworths.
EDIT: after all these years, they are finally tearing it all down, and rebuilding anew. Soon this review won't be applicable, but it'll remain up until renovations are complete, and I'll write up a new review at that time. Until then... we remember the labyrinth of Towerhil. The Layout is a bit labyrinthian, including multiple dead ends, and paths that loop unconventionally. About 30% of the place is laid out normally for a supermarket, but as a result, chances are they'll have you need, if you look hard enough. Not great for the average shopper. but fun for those with a sense of adventure.
Very convenient for locals - long open hours, good range of products and reasonable prices. Only issue is that it's very cramped and can get a bit too busy at peak times. The bottle shop is in a separate building - much more roomy, not to busy, a great range and friendly staff.
Reasonable craft beer selection, bit of a surprise considering it's location. Not quite as good as Carrum Downs but better than most bottle shops locally.
Fantastic, but some items are exorbitantly priced.....
Great shop to stay local but very much looking forward to the upgrade!
Well over due for the soon to be make over in which they may carry more items. Catalogued items apparently only at bigger concept stores despite not specifying that in the catalogue.
I shop here when I need to do a quick run. I know where everything is and If fresh produce looks a bit tired, I don't buy it, unless I'm making soup. Very ripe vegetables make the tastiest soup stock and add flavour to stews. And if the price is too high for tired produce, l ask for a discount. The staff are friendly and very helpful, and nothing is too much trouble. Some of their prices have come into line with the big boys, and their community card gives that little extra bonus too.
