First time in and YOU have to go! It’s the cutest little spot with amazing food. Always wondered why the bakery had such a long cue outside it. The food is to die for. IT WAS FIRE!! The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again.
We stopped by Matakana for lunch before heading home. The markets weren't running so we had to forage elsewhere and found this place. It is on the main road. We grabbed a few items and walked down near the river to enjoy them. The pizzas were interesting as they were more bready than pizzay. Almost like the focaccia with toppings. They were nicely flavoured and the pepperoni was slightly spicy. The quiches were nice. Soft eggy filling full of spinach and toppings. The bacon one had it baked through the quiche while the salmon one was only at the top. Both were nice with a filo base so it was crispy and flakey. I quite liked their danish and croissant. The lemon croissant was interesting with a lemon and vanilla custardy curd. It was a nice place for food in lieu of the markets.
Definitely the best bakery I experienced during my 4 weeks travel through NZ! Reminded me so much of French bakeries. That smell of fresh bread and croissants! Coffee ist excellent, too.
amazing bakery. best sourdough for 20 km and lots of lovely pastries and sandwiches. I go there every time I am in the area and never disappointed. I dont understand the poor reviews here. They dont seem real to me. Funny how many reviewers mention plume, but they dont bake bread and they have gone out of business. Ringawera are the real deal for sure.
Very nice sandwiches, but the food was let down by the staff working the counter, who had no interest in customer service. The “coffee” was a lot of hot milk with a little bit of coffee.
Opens pretty early, staff is super cool. Good coffee but croissant was pretty sweet for a plain bakery.
Awesome selection of delicious looking, and pretty tasty, baked goods. In my one visit, coffee was 3/5, but the food made up for it.
Not the cheapest bread but delicious nonetheless. Get in early as the few times I have been in here the shelves run out quick and are occasionally restocked. They intermittently have other pastries such as croissants and pain au chocolat which also seem to sell out quite quickly.
The bread is some of the best I’ve ever had, and compared to city center prices they are relatively cheap for similar, but tastier products. Highly recommend!
The Staff are Deaf and Rude and the Coffee is Weak, the food is so over priced its criminal! Pretty disappointed with the way I was treated. I hope they pick up there game. The only reason I've gone there is it's the only place open in the morning. I'm sure if some one else opened up a bakery next door they would lose there customers.
