"In 1959, brothers Tony & Nick Anassis established a single fronted retail outlet next to the train line in Church Street Richmond. Whilst one brother shucked oysters and filleted fish for sale to local residents, the other established relationships with pubs and restaurants in and around Melbourne through door-to-door promotion of their wares. Richmond Oysters was born. From this humble begining our small family business has grown to be one of the most respected seafood establishments in Melbourne.Today, Richmond Oysters retains its iconic heritage and continues to operate from its original location, with a wholesale operation complemented by retail seafood, take-away fish'n'chips and a world class restaurant dining experience."

Got their takeaway spaghetti marinara. It was absolutely delicious. Good size portion. Found it impossible to phone through an order but ended up ordering on site for about a 20 minute wait.

The best oyster house in Melbourne. Very fresh many selection of oyster. I love the one that served with wine shot. Mussel is also great. Very recommend to visit when traveling to Melbourne.

They are the worst! I tried calling for 2 months once every week trying to talk to the manager responsible for wholesale because i needed stuff for my shop. They would always say he’s busy and that they’ll leave a msg and i never got a call back.
Amazing seafood counter, amazing service- find George and you’ll be sorted! Highly recommended, great job Richmond Oysters!
