Good place ,taste is good but for people like me who has Indian food habits, it tastes ok with sea food especially crab and octopus balls feel like raw meat deep fried . But the vegetable pancake is 5 out of 5 and I think everyone will like it
Ordered their Signature Beef Rice Bowl, was the most disappointing meal I've ever had. The beef was bland, dry and hard to chew. The rice was covered in oil with no taste at all. The meat was so dry it looked like someone had air dried it then dumped in back in oil, reheated it, and sold it to a customer. There was so much oil in the whole rice bowl that it upset my stomach after only a few spoonfuls. There was false advertising on their menu as I did not see an egg sitting on top of my rice bowl like the menu advertised. Instead, there was only some ginger in the corner. What I did find though, were blue-ish looking piece of what I presume was egg white stuck to my beef, a bit confusing. The whole rice bowl didn't taste like anything, I couldn't even taste the salt over all the oil. After the menu change, Rice Workshop does not taste like it used to. It used to taste a lot better as I visited it quite frequently in the past, and this new change has been nothing but disappointing. Never going back there again.
Rice Workshop's extensive menu always makes it hard to choose what to order, but with the meal deal option on Easi, it makes deciding somewhat easier. Settled on the Karaage Chicken Rice Bowl and Original Beef With Egg Rice Bowl. Good flavours, and executed reasonably well. Definitely a filling and honest to goodness meal. The crab croquettes was crisped on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, very enjoyable. The takoyaki was disappointing - all batter and not much else. The daifuku were really good. Love the generous amount of filling, and the thin and silky daifuku skin.
Rice Workshop offers a variety of ramen, curries and rice dishes. We ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry and the Chashu Pork Ramen. The fried chicken in the katsu was large & crispy, served on fresh rice with a rich curry and pickles. The curry had the pefect level of spice for me! Janeca enjoyed the Chashu Pork Ramen with a miso broth. This was filling and refreshing. The service was fast and friendly, and the prices are quite good for the portion size. If you want some yummy Japanese in Chadstone, check out Rice Workshop!
There is fast food version in ricework shop. Regret to order the extra tempura prawn. It costs $4.2 but can taste plain flour only. It’s not worth to spend their snack which warm up in the box too long. Uncontinued,The nightmare is unagi bento. It seems not bad, but taste reheat many times. The chicken bamboo stick and corns is ever dry i tried in my lifetime, the rice is no soft texture without smelling. They use the sauce ‘s strong cover the fresh of food. Can believe that prepared for long time then reheat everthing in too high power microwave setting .
Chashu ramen with gyoza and karaage. So I ordered Japanese food from a Japanese shop but got Chinese food. How and why. It was so poor the quality wasn’t even good enough to serve to anyone. The ramen was not tasting of any ramen I’ve had before. The chashu pork had a taste of cardboard. The gyoza was more like a fried dumpling and not a Japanese style pan fried gyoza. To be honest the only decent part was the karaage. But what adds insult to injury was the customer service, the customer service was poor. No smiles. No welcoming attitude. Just starting at me until I decided that I did want to order from them and even then the staff looked as tho they were not happy to be there, almost as tho I was hindering them. Overall not what I was expecting from a brand such as rice works.
Had chicken kastsu with tonkotsu ramen, all I can say is I'm full but far from satisfied, I'd rather have not spent the money. Very bland, chicken was of bad cuts and tasteless, disappointed.
When that rice craving hits during a intense Chaddy shopping session, this is the place to go. They have a variety of rice bowls and all the ones I have tried have been quite delicious and filling. There's also a few condiments to customise your meal to your liking.
The take order was delivered to the client well before esta. Yet my earnings were not paid. I was left in tears after spending money on fuel, my time and efforts.
Best chicken katsu curry, ordered the large and the portion was huge. Very friendly service and patient.
