Beautiful selection of vintage clothes! Could have spent hours here! The man that was on the front counter was kind but not annoying like some sales assistants are. He allowed me to try on clothes in peace which I appreciated.
One of the best shopping experiences I’ve ever had. Shoutout to Jade for being the most amazing help with putting an awesome outfit together! Extra points for everything being so fairly priced too
Came into this store. Asked what I thought was a simple question to bloke behind counter. He greeted me very harshly. My friend and I both walked out immediately and we were both in agreement, what a complete ‘Dick’ the guy working here is! This guy has a big chip on his shoulder and takes it out on paying customers. NO way am I giving my hard earned money to this place and neither should anyone else! Shame on you Retro Metro Paddington! Do better… Be better
Great store. Some real treasures to be found and fair pricing. The owners are great and the store mascot is a zen little dude!
Huge variety. Good quality. Fair pricing unlike so many of the new hipster vintage stores popping up. This place is OG. Shop keeper has a wicked good sense of humour too.
as someone who's been wearing vintage, thrifted, hand-me-downs, and handmade clothes my whole life, I was excited to go to this store when I finally got the chance. they boasted clothes available from 5 dollars, and I had difficulty finding any around that price. the selection is sub-par especially since it's a retro/vintage exclusive store and I presume, curated, and the shopkeeper watched me intently the whole time as though I was going to shoplift I assume this comes from the fact that I'm a young woman with ticks. The collection of clothes are overpriced, and to me this seems to be gentrifying the concept of buying second hand, and this to me is confirmed by the other reviews I've read in which the store clerk harasses people for wearing what is assumed to be fast fashion, their race, or their disabilities. the whole thing smells elitist to me. The atmosphere of the place is uncomfortable, too. Id rather deal with depop sellers and digging through smelly clothing bins at salvos. If you enjoy thrifting or vintage fashion, don't bother with this place. This happened a little while ago and I've just gotten around to writing a review about it.
I fell in love this place. Stuffs in this store are not cheap, but it is totally worth to shop here if you're looking for a genuine retro vintage stuffs. I bought a vintage shirts and a set of earings for Christmas gifts and they're so unique and fab. Also the ower of the shop is friendly and kind. This shop is a hidden gem of Brisbane.
Fantastic range of high quality clothing here. Eclectic mix, well curated in that this is not run of the mill clothing in both it's high quality and range of styles, which for men is difficult to find. A bargain if one takes into account the quality of fabric and manufacturing will ensure a long life of use and wear gracefully. Great to see an option to counter the 'fast fashion' movement and its associated detrimental effects on people and plant. It was obvious the owner cares greatly about this and helps put at ease those who practices ethical purchasing.
Probably one of the best second hand shops in Brisbane. Came not expecting much but found some gems! The guy at the front was super nice too, definitely give a visit if you like good quality vintage clothing at a reasonable price. For reference, I got an awesome hand knit turtleneck jumper for 35 dollars. Prices tend to range from 25 - 60 dollars depending on the garment.
@Roulette I was in the store today when this person got asked to leave. I believe the store owner is confused and does not understand the difference between a "well rehearsed performance" and what was clearly a neurological disorder. I was comfortable with this persons tics, I believe that everyone else in the store was comfortable with this persons tics. Rather other shoppers were uncomfortable with the store owners reaction and aggressive insistence that the person with tourettes leave the store. I was a frequent shopper at this store. I think the owner should take some time to reflect on their actions and consider other people's lives and experiences as living with any disability and being discriminated against is not cool. It's a shame that such a great curated collection of clothing is not accessible to all.
