We had lunch during mid-week at Gati. Boy! We enjoyed every bit of it. Hot food, quick service, reasonable prices, you name it we got it. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone, ample parking; maybe not in front of the restaurant though. : Vegetarian friendly as well. Decent seating space. Coconut Juice is worth a try. Don't ask for spicy if you can't take the spice. Or have a tissue in hand to wipe your nose It is a must-try Thai.
I eat here quite often, both dine-in & takeaway. Food is very good :-
Dropped in for lunch with my partner. They do a smaller lunch menu and I had Chilli Basil noodles with Chicken and my partner had Red Curry Chicken. There was nothing left on either plate and both meals were a decent size and delicious. Service was great and the food came quickly.
My first experience was superb 5/5. Unfortunately I came back today for a quick lunch and ordered chicken basil noodle. Unfortunately the chicken had a “not so fresh taste”. It’s a shame because I really liked the place. So I’m not coming back.
Take away orders are always very liquidy, i.e. more water and sauce than meat and veg. It is also very pricy for what you get. Although this is our local, we now go a little further to get value in our thai food.
When dining out in the suburbs I don't expect to be served authentic Thai, but rather bland Australian versions prepared to appeal to local palates, I get it. However you can usually make things taste Thai by adding must-have Thai condiments which consist of sugar, fish sauce, chili flakes and vinegar with sliced chilies. These condiments are to Thai Cuisine what salt and pepper is to Western food & are a must have at any Thai restaurant. I asked for fish sauce with chillis to add flavour to my Pad See Ew & Papaya Salad, which was overly sweet, but was told they didn't have any. A Thai restaurant without fish sauce!?!? It's like being sold a meat pie without sauce. It's just NOT done. I had to settle for jar chilli in soya sauce, which isn't Thai, wasn't hot & was charged $1.50 for it. Considering all the staff are Thai it's disappointing. I get cooking for your audience but have genuine food available for those who want to eat proper Thai with spice. I like chilli, I like fish sauce. I want my Thai food packed with both. Zero heat & Zero fish sauce equals Zero fun.
Hadn't gone back in years as they insisted a dish i had ordered continuously over the years was supposed to taste like that. So gave them another go after 6yrs and found it to be good once again along with price and quantity of the take away portions.Food: 4/5
Very disappointed with the quality of one of our dishes and the service on 8th November 2020. Had eaten here over 10 times and had been previously very happy with the food. Today, I ordered the usual order of Pad Se Ew with beef I order this EVERY SINGLE TIME and it was much saltier than the previous orders. I needed to drink water after 2-3 bites. When I notified the staff, they said it was "normal" and that the Chinese people eat it like this. Apparently another table was served the same dish and said it was OK but I am Chinese too and we don't eat it like this. It was much saltier than previous times I had it at this restaurant. I tasted another dish served today at our table and it tasted fine, not as salty as the Pad Se Ew. They said they won't change it, won't fix it, won't do anything except add more noodles, which they will charge extra for! Staff were not in any way apologetic. Left the dish uneaten and won't be returning, if this is their response to a substandard dish.
$25 minimum order for card transaction is an obvious cash grab. I wonder why they want cash???$$. I can shop anywhere and they will accept cards for any amount. These days people don’t carry cash. Business must be good to turn people away. I will not be back while they have this policy.
All food were extremely sweet, even chilli basil noodles were extremely sweet. And the foods were really pricy as well. To be honest this place was one of the worst Thai restaurants I've been to.Food: 2/5
