Huge restaurant. Good customer service. The lady explained in detail of how to order since it's our 1st time there. We ordered platter for 2 which comes in huge portion. There were calamari, chips, scallops, oysters, fish, lobsters, prawns and sushi as well. Food came quite fast. It was worth it. We also ordered the cheesy lobster as well and it's really good.
I got the seafood platter for 4, oh boy was it a treat! The Morton bay bugs and scallops blew me away. However, the seafood chowder was a bit dry. I think the platter for 4 is a very reasonable price for that amount of quality seafood. We also tried the sushi and the Agedashi Tofu which shouldn’t be skipped!!! The staff was friendly. The bar didn’t have tomato juice for Bloody Marys but a waitress told us if we are okay to wait, they can get some tomato juice which we very much appreciated and the Bloody Mary was awesome and even came with a prawn on top <3
The seafood is outstanding the meal sizes are large as well. Everything was cooked so well and there was a level of care for the food that you tend not to see these days. The atmosphere is buzzing as well. We throughly enjoyed our visit and we will be back again for sure!
We love having family party here. The selection is huge and there’s something for everyone. They have the freshest prawns and oysters my absolute fave. Their sushi is handcrafted so well by sushi master, the taste is so good. Calamari to die for, best potato chips with aioli and even the complimentary salad taste so good. Serving is generous. The bar has a large selection of drinks. I will keep going back here and you must try it. I love the alfresco dining Parking is free for 2 hours.
Delicious menu with plenty of options to have a really good time. The platter for 2 that we tried had lots of seafood. The bug and crab were a highlight but everything else on it was delicious. It came with a bit of salad and fresh fried fries . Kilpatrick oysters are included. We felt overwhelmed by the size of the tray, but we 2 males managed to eat most of it yes, we didn’t finished it all off. The place had plenty of seating, everything covered but in an open space with heaters. Be ready to peel the prawns with your hands
Seafood platter here is beautiful and so fresh that it's worth the price and the drive in. I've eaten here now 3 times and every time we've gotten the massive seafood platters. Carpark is just downstairs and not too expensive and theres plenty of outdoor seating big heaters on the top over the tables for winter which is sooooo good and if we have leftovers they have the take home containers last time we went there were trays of seafood left over from other customers...with how much these cost we ain't gonna waste nothing lol. Definitely gonna be a place the family will be visiting often oh and staff are great we always seem to talk for hours that they wait patiently for us to leave and I'm talking about 10pm lateour ladies catch up's take foreverrrrr sorry guys
The restaurant had a good feel about it. Had a nice open space and good music. The ordering process was nice and easy and the staff were great. Let’s talk about the food. The prawns were fresh and tasty. The oysters were small and dry The lobster had no flavour, was very bland as if it was washed. The calamari was dry and over cooked The sashimi salmon was nice but the other fish had a spongy texture to it. Overall the food was average and definitely not as I would have expected from a restaurant located in a high end area. May have been just my experience on the day though. Someone else may have had a better experience though so just judging it based on my experience at the time.
If you love seafood and lots of it! this is the place to go! @reefgasworks is located in Newstead with free parking up to 2 hours! The restaurant has a bar that serves a wide range of drinks. The menu consists of seafood platters, sushi, dons, burgers and bento boxes so you have a lots of things to choose from! We obviously went for the platter which seemed quite intriguing This platter for 2 is $120 but it’s massive! The plate barely fit our table and there was a nice variety of seafood including sushi and sashimi! The sashimi was fresh and the sushi was quite nice too. The lobster was soo good! The platter also had Moreton bay bugs, oystersboth raw & with bbq bacon, scallops, calamari, crumbed fish and chips. So yes, it’s a BIG feed! They also have the platter for 1 option for $70 and platter for 4 for $220. I would definitely recommend checking them out!
Had the Fish and Chips Cod and the Grilled Sashimi Don. The fish & chips were good but not great. The grilled samon rice bowl was dry. For the price, the food was not worth it, but I guess it's located in an up-market place. The open-air atmosphere was good. However, the service was scarce and wait times for food long.Food: 4/5
Dinner for two, shared the seafood platter for 1 which was delicious and just enough for two people. Great location and friendly staff with fresh salmon sashimi available. Overall, food was quite good and chips were crisp till the very last chip and bite. Unfortunately, sat in the area with no heater, but still coped with our focus mainly on the food. Would definitely recommend and come again!
