Red Heart is a great neighbourhood cafe - the prices are higher than you would expect from other cafes however that is likely due to the size of the cafe. The food quality has decreased lately, or it is most likely due to different chefs on each day. The service isn't great at this cafe, with it often taking a few minutes to get the attention of one of the waiters.
Just started a construction contract job down the road from Red Heart Cafe. Being a coffee lover i try all the coffee shops in the area before deciding on the regular. Not only does this place have great coffee, the service is also great. On my third visit to Red Heart Cafe, the batista had seen me parking my ute out the front, remembered what coffee i liked and had it ready by the time i walked in the door.
I went to Red Heart for brunch today and was not impressed with their service. My partner and I asked for our meal minus the side of eggs, to which the owner I believe it was, came off very judgmental towards us about not wanting eggs with our meal. On the menu it had said our meal came with relish as a spread so I did not think there would be any butter on the bread my mistake I very sincerely apologised for the mistake I made and asked very nicely if we could please have our toast without any butter. She again seemed very annoyed at this, I understand if she were to get annoyed having to toast some bread again after already doing so but she should not have displayed this to her customers. Lastly, my partner was eating some hot chips that we ordered and all of a sudden spat out a chip and said that it tasted like actual feces. Thinking he was exaggerating and maybe the chip just wasn't very good, I smelt the chip and I almost threw up. The chip smelt like actual, real feces. We called the watier over to smell the chip and to ask what would make the chip smell like this and his response was simply "Yeah that is pretty funky... I don't know man.. sorry...yeah" at this point we were so disappointed with our experience that we just finished up and left. Certainly will not be returning. But if anyone has an explanation for why the chip smelt like that, would be really great! Currently washing our mouth out with the strongest Listerine we could find because we are so worried.
a nice local cafe at the Oaks Road with nice coffee and Egg Benedict. Staff are always helpful and friendly. Great stop before starting and ending the day. It is located at the shops near one of the major Hills to City bus stops thru M2 freeway.
I waited over 20 minutes for my coffee on Saturday morning and they forgot to make it despite me checking up on them throughout that time. The service was really poor and I walked away with no coffee because I was so turned off. It's a shame because I used to come here at least once a week.
New cafe has rely stepped it up a notch. Amazing food, good value and nice staff. A little gem of a place.
