New theatre is great. Huge screen. The reclining chairs are comfy and in a very spacious theatre. Booking tickets and food online in advance is great, and it was ready when I went in. Saves queuing up when it's busy The staff were all good. My gripe would be paying $16 for a large combo and finding the popcorn was full of unpopped kernels. It was really average, not at all as good as usual, and at that price I would expect something decent. They also charge 50c for an extra box if you want to share the popcorn between two. After giving them $16 already I wasn't keen
Apart from my seat being sold 2 times while I was there in my seat. The staff came in twice to check I was in the right seat with the right ticket..the other guy was found another seat.. Apart from that was awesome experience.. so heads up to anyone buying on line . You could have the same problem
It has just been redone and it looks great. Entrance is either from outside the theater on Dee st or inside Invercargill Central. Food is priced quite high at the food bar but otherwise a great movie theater.
If you're still unvaccinated, remember that Reading Cinemas proved that they don't need your money. They barred you before and they'll do it again. Don't accept this treatment. Wait a little longer to watch it streaming or buy the DVD instead.
The screen and projector are awful, seats do not a cinema experience make, upgrade that mid 80s screen and mid 90s projector please. Also the lights for emergency exit are not shielded so they reflect off the screen washing out nearly a third of the screen with green colour, pretty terrible really.

The only one cinema in Invercargill. Comfortable place, clean area, professional staff, informative and fun. Small cinema but it is good enough. Please always update the new movie. Excellent. I enjoyed watching a movie there because the theatre was not crowded at all. A ticket costs $12 and popcorns and drinks are available at the counter. Seats were clean and comfortable.
Stunning interior and greatly improved cinema complex. Great design by new company
I watched movie in Cinema 1 and the sitting posture was too steep not possible to enjoy the movie . NEED to improve or upgrade seat to change the position of backs as each patron desires.
