A bit of a mixed bag. Service is always pretty bad here. Very slow service and the staff are sometimes rude. Popcorn is sometimes cold and under salted. Theatre though are pretty clean and are comfortable and the picture and sound quality is good.
This cinema is well overdue a make-over. Everything inside is dated and stinks of popcorn. The ladies' toilets are the worst. The basins are a mint green colour, some of the toilet seats are broken and my shoes were sticking to the floor. It hasn't changed in well over 20 years since I've been living in Wellington.nnAlso the counter service is really slow when queueing to buy tickets. There's never enough staff on and every time someone orders food with a ticket it takes a very long time. They need a better purchasing system where there could be a separate queue just for buying tickets using an onscreen purchasing system and no staff are required, and a separate queue if you want to buy food. The whole place needs a serious overhaul. Not my favourite cinema to visit.
Reading Cinemas is hands down my go-to place for a fantastic movie-going experience. From the moment I step into the theater, I'm immersed in a world of entertainment and comfort.nnThe selection of films is outstanding, offering a wide range of options from the latest blockbusters to indie gems. The state-of-the-art screens and sound systems make every movie feel like an epic adventure. Plus, the seating is incredibly comfortable, and I love the option to reserve my favorite spot in advance.nnWhat truly sets Reading Cinemas apart, though, is their exceptional customer service. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and genuinely enthusiastic about movies. They go the extra mile to ensure that you have a seamless and enjoyable time at the cinema.nnI also appreciate the cleanliness and overall ambiance of the theater. It's a place where I can escape into the world of cinema and forget about everything else for a while.nnWhether I'm going with friends, family, or even on a solo movie night, Reading Cinemas never disappoints. If you're a movie lover like me, this is the place to be!
Terrible policy, we came out all that way just to be turned away because our son had no ID, the guy asked for a photo ID, which we showed him the school ID photo on the phone as well a birth certificate on the phone and then they stated they needed to see a physical ID ‍nI then showed a recent letter from the college with his details, his college photo ID and still got declined. What more evidence did you need??nDo better Porirua Reading cinemas!nYour policy suxnWhen other people have photo shot fake photo IDs and have made it harder for us innocent people who just wanted to watch a movie.nI’ll watch a movie somewhere else than to come to this cinema again.nFrustrated ‍
We took 3 Grandchildren to Wonka, which we all enjoyed. What I didn't enjoy was receiving a $65.00 fine for OVERSTAYING in the New World car park. Can you warn other unknowing movie attendees please.
