Story

Imagine...
Freshly baked scones and muffins, homemade cakes, tarts, pies and open sandwiches, fresh salads made from local seasonal ingredients and Amorelle's famous curries.

Surrounded by lush parkland with a sunny verandah filled with birdsong, fresh air and the smell of wonderful food!

What a great place to meet for a quick meal and great coffee! Our Australian grown coffee, 'Our Arabica' is roasted locally by our own barista- Tina.

Grab a book for a quiet read, meet a friend, plan an outing or maybe book for a cooking class!

A really lovely Cafe. Atmosphere is gorgeous. A great little outdoor eating area overlooking the park too. They also seek farm fresh produce too. Kid-friendliness: Outdoor eating area overlooks a park with kids play equipment
Great little cafe. Friendly staff, nice outlook and freshly made, delicious lunch and yummy cakes/ slices for desert.
Beautiful and chill place! Delicious food and great staff
Amazing apple and pecan cake. And the larder had rhubarb and violet eggplants... yummy!Food: 5/5
Nice little Cafe inside the library building - with indoor and outdoor seating. There's a grasses area off the outdoor area which flows down to a small shaded playground. The Cafe also sells local produce at a fair price. Nice atmosphere and buzzing when we were there.
The best scones I have had at a cafe in a while. If how busy a place is reflects the quality of the food and service then this place is above average. It has to be one of the most busy cafes in the East Maitland area! The pot of tea was nice and strong just like I like it and the staff were most helpful.
Loved the food and atmosphere. The location is an inspiration and the blended concept of the slow food movement with flavourful recipes and good beveridges makes the Reader's Cafe an excellent experience.
Very ordinary. Very expensive. Very limited offerings. Coffees were very mediocre... it seemed a large coffee just got more milk, so they severely lacked flavour.
Food is good. A little on the $$$ expensive side I thought. Comfortable but noisy, especially if kids come in from activities in the library. Staff are friendly and helpful so all in all, I like it. Been here a few times now.
Delicious & generous lunch. Love being able to buy the amazing fresh locally farmed veg at the same time.
