A lovely supportive environment for girls to prosper and grow to be their true selves. As well as wonderful staff that are welcoming and strive to do their very best for each student. My experience has been nothing but positive!
We are so happy with the education our daughter is receiving at this incredible girls school. The Positive Education curriculum and wellbeing is extraordinary, and the facilities and teachers are amazing. The warm community and culture oozes through every part of the campus. We are so happy with how our daughter is thriving and the principal Anne Johnstone is inspirational!
As a former student I have come to find that parts of this school are lacking. Firstly in some subjects we had teachers who barely taught the curriculum and didn’t care for of learning, then there is the publicity stunts. I was at this school for 7 years at. At some point during my time here our principals changed and so did our image. Whether it be standing outside for hours to create our school symbol, or the word love or hope, using the entire school; Multiple times a year we would stand outside in the blazing sun creating shapes. No joke. Some girls fainted in the heat due to the fact we were denied access to water or the bathroom. Wow. The worst part about this is the fact that we were missing valuable time in the classroom. We also had a subject called “Pos-Ed” where we were ment to be learning about social skills and open mindedness, however we just sat there drawing pictures and not really doing much to benefit our learning. This was another publicity stunt. Not to mention the dog. That’s right a dog. At the end of one year at a speech day our principal announced that our school would be getting a wellbeing dog. I kid you not the next year we only saw this dog once. ONCE! We never saw it again. Some of as students thought it might have just been a teachers dog, we will never know. Any way please don’t send your kids here the teachers don’t care and there are loads of better schools in Sydney that can help your girls.
I have been invited to Ravenswood School for Girls in 2017 and 2018 to provide specific training on how to use LinkedIn more effectively and have really enjoyed working with such an engaged team of professionals who are willing to adapt to the world of modern technology for the benefit of their entire school community. Thank you for the opportunity to share practical tips and suggestions!
As a former student this school is perfect if you want a school where your daughter is nearly guaranteed to get bullied and for the staff to ignore it. She may even experience Post Traumatic Stress later in life however trust me the school will not be interested or offer any support for what happened in the past. If you want a school where the amount you support the Schools Building programs reflects the care your daughter will receive, a school where your daughter will graduate with no real world experience in dealing with half the workforce men. A school which only rewards and acknowledges the top 1% and will leave your daughter feeling worthless if she doesn't achieve a HSC score over 96. In addition many of the teachers have no experience of learning or professional development outside Ravenswood in some cases for many decades. This will be the perfect school for you.
