$22-25 for a bowl of ramen is on the steep side. However im so glad i went. Actually the most phenomenal firmly delicately delicious noodles i did think what the hell no free kaedama? $4.50 for extra noodles? But i see why now and divine creamy chicken broth, or fragrant garlic /chilli tonkotsu. yes i had both $50 for two bowls of ramen and i regret nothing.
Definitely some of the best ramen in all of Sydney packed full of ingredients and flavour. Liked the idea of an open kitchen so you can see the ramen being pieced together and devour it with ease.
Hands down!!! BEST ramen in Sydney. The menu don't give you many choices but the quality can easily beat any other ramen places I've been too. Not only ramen noodles taste very in-house made but the ratio of base helps leaving no food waste. Karaage chicken is to die for as well. I always come here for ramen and the consistency is the key to make me come back for more. Highly recommend!! Rara is always busy so make sure you make reservations in advance.
They are too stingy for their soup. I went there with my husband and ordered one ramen with extra noodle and one mazesoba. Ramen came first with extra noodles on the side. Soup seemed too less for noodles so I asked lady for more soup if possible I didn't mind to pay extra but she said they measure the right amount of soup for the noodles so can't give us more. If they are only providing right amount of soup for one serving of noodles, why are they selling extra noodles? And it's $4? Even without extra noodles, their soup is just not enough to be called noodle soup.. It was more like dried noodles. And mazesoba came after 15mins ramen was served. We went there at 12 their opening time and were only 4th customers, not sure why there was such time gap in between. They take pride that their noodles are hand but guys.. They really need to work on noodles. It's was too floury, not chewy at all. That's probably why their noodles absorb soup a lot more than other shops. I'm a big fan of Japanese ramen. I used to travel Japan alot and Ramen is always in my To Eat list, also I have been to those famous and popular ramen restaurants in Sydney. For me I don't think there will be second visit at RaRa, it's over rated. Ippudo ramen is way way better in terms of flavour and price isn't too different especially if you eat alot, ippudo charge only $1 for extra noodles and yet you will still have plenty of soup.
The ramen here is okay but definitely doesn’t live up to the hype. Regular Tonkotsu has a nice porky umami flavour - but nothing to justify the $20 price. The garlic and chilli version completes overwhelms the broth - I would guess this would be for people not familiar with ramen. Gyoza is fine, not bad but nothing special. Overall, recommend tempering your expectations and be ready to pay above average prices.
Now I understand why people say this is the BEST ramen in Sydney. I had the Rara Tonkotsu and the soup was so delicious and the egg was just perfect. I’d say this is a must try! My friend had the ramen with garlic oil and chilli the ‘popular’ one on the menu. Ordered and paid it on mobile, super easy. Got our ramen within like 5 minutes. It’s next to the Redfern train station. Highly recommend!
Brotha! This is THE BEST ramen shop I’ve ever been in my whole life. I even went there one night with a Japanese friend who confirmed my theory. These guys clearly know what they are doing. The taste, the textures, the environment, the spot on staff specially and that distribution of decoration and music makes this place an obsidian gem in Sydney.
Always top tier ramen. The broth is fantastic all the way to the bottom. Noodles are super authentic and delicious. Always come with friends. Tables are tiny so sit at the bar
A focus on ramen, with a small short menu. Ramen is tasty and the stock is rich but not too think. Serving size is good. Price is on the steep side for ramen but quality is high. Sides are fine and a range of drinks too.
Love the ramen here, great creamy tonkotsu broth with super nicely done charcoal roasted pork! Every ingredient rxpresses its fragrance. Staff was super friendly. Note: line up early and don't eat beforehand! Enjoy
