Very good experience, good food with good service. The goat curry, with on the bone meat, is especially recommended. Tender meat with full of flavour. But choose mild or medium since it may be too hot for some people. Other foods are good as well, you can see that each dish is nicely prepared. The service is warm and kind but clearly there's too few stuff relative to the customers especially in peak hours.
Homely and welcoming, the owner really shines at service. Don’t forget to try the goat curry, the highlight of all the dishes we tried.
Great little restaurant, very friendly staff and great food with generous serving sizes. The mixed entree was amazing!
What a lovely restaurant. The atmosphere is wonderful if a bit loud, the food is really great. The owner spends a lot of time walking around to ensure everybody is happy with everything. I cannot stress enough that this restaurant alone is worth a trip to Canberra! Vegetarian options: We had only vegetarian starters and a bit wider assortment for the meat eaters when it came to the main course. The menu has plenty of vegetarian options.
The best indian food I have had. The best Palak paneer I have ever had, the lamb sag, goat curry were great. Above all the service by the staff and owner are A+. Always a busy place which speaks to its popularity. Been 4 times already and will be going quite a few more times in the future.
One of my favourite places to eat in Canberra. Would recommend taking a few tables out as it there are far to many in a tight spot so there is often a line of people squeezing to get in and out which affects ambiance. If you have a pram, forget it. Still worth a 5 star though.
Rama's is our go to family restaurant. The whole family, grandparents, parents and kids love the food and there are enough options for everyone. My friendship group also quite often chooses Rama's for it's catch up dinners. Rama's does both well. The owner remembers everyone and is an incredible, welcoming host. / It's got a lovely vite. I also love that it's a suburban restaurant, livening up local shops. Vegetarian options: There are loads of vegetarian options available at Rama's. Some that are pure vegetables, others using paneer. Options for vegetarian are available in entrees and mains. Kid-friendliness: Rama's are very welcoming towards kids, always addressing them and making them feel welcome. If you choose to sit outside then there is a large courtyard where kids can run around ours like to play hide & seek. If you're inside then Rama's provide paper and crayons for them as well. Our kid's love Rama's - it is their go to restaurant if we ask where they want to eat it even beats McDonald's. Chicken Korma is the kids fave. Parking: Plenty of free parking around at dinner time. Wheelchair accessible parking available as well
The food is amazing and the staff are warm and friendly. The owner personally checks each table to make sure they are satisfied. Truly a wonderful dining experience.Recommended dishesBeef Vindaloo, Roti, Fish Pakora
Verdict - great South Indian style food. Full of spices. We were looking for a place to eat in Canberra. Ended up in this place. Came across this Fiji Indian resturant. As never heard of such thing before thought let’s give it a try and it didn’t disappoint. The place has been running for a long time and you can see why when you try their food. We went for a fish and chicken curry. Go for fish for sure. I liked the fact they asked how spicy you want. We went for medium and it was perfect.
Service was fast, food was a bit bland, and the vegetables and paneer were in very big chunks which made it a little hard to eat. It also got very noisy in here, so sitting outside might be nicer if you're after a bit of privacyFood: 2/5
