Have hired various pieces of equipment from R&R Hire over the last 2 years. Ladders, trestles & builders planks, Concrete grinders & most recently this stump grinder for my work. I'm a vegetation management operator. Over 20 years experience in the forestry, mining, main roads & local councils as well as private property both rural, commercial & domestic. Was supposed to be grinding 2 Jacaranda tree stumps out of a retirement home's courtyard garden. This stump grinder was putting out more smoke then sawdust. Took it back to them. They recon these teeth are fine. They're stuffed. No cutting edge at all. On any edge. Completely rounded off. Bluntly refused to put sharp teeth on it. Was hired for the day but returned after it had only attempted to do 40 minutes of work per the hour meter. They became very abusive. Charged me for half a day hire. Cost me a whole day written off in running around & lost production time. They have consequently lost several customers in this way & they couldn't care less. Unprofessional, Sub standard equipment. unqualified service technicians. Negligent. Have taken my hire contracts elsewhere.

I will never hire here again.   Hired a floor grinder mid day Monday for 60m of tile glaze removal. The first machine didn't work properly, and I was told I could bring it back to get another one which would be far more effective.  Picked the second one up, went back to the job,    it sucked too. The head on the machine is supposed to be self leveling so that the wheel sits flat on the floor at all times, grinding evenly, but the grinding wheel wasn't sitting flat so barely any of it was making contact with the floor, just a small semi-semi circle at the front.   

I returned the hire first thing Tuesday morning (5 hours early) and asked for a refund only to be told that's how the machine is supposed to work, that it's designed that way, and my customer should just get the old tiles pulled up instead of doing it the 'cheap way'.  

R & R flat out refused to even consider a refund, or that there is even a problem with their machine. They were incredibly rude and smug.

Beware of this company.  Absolute garbage.

R & R Hire Services Beerburrum Road Caboolture - rogues.  The owner Greg Skinner is unapproachable and business ethics and customer service appauling.  Stay away from this company folks.
