Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our recent stay. After a 7-hour drive, we arrived to find only two towels and no face washer provided. 3 adults When I called reception, I was told to come down and collect it myself—even though there were two staff members present, which was quite frustrating after a long trip.nnThe room itself had noticeable stains on the walls, and overall, the cleanliness did not meet expectations. One of the two swipe cards we were given did not work, which caused a significant disruption. I mistakenly used the faulty one to go out and grab food, only to find I was locked out and needed my family to come down and let me back in. Just to add, the body wash was out by our third night. One would think that when they service the room, they top this up for you. No seemed to take that extra care of us, for us, it felt like once you have checked in, you on your own!nnSadly, the service and attention to detail were lacking, and it left us feeling quite unimpressed. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously to improve future guest experiences.

The Quest in Gordon is a well appointed and comfortable hotel within walking distance to a Coles and restaurants in town. This is a regular choice for me when travelling to Mackay for work.

An exceptional apart-hotel with first-class service. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a welcome letter on the table, the air conditioning already set for comfort, a couple of chocolates, and soft jazz playing on the TV—an admirable focus on details.nThe room was outstanding, offering a beautiful high view and high-quality amenities, including four pillows a mix of thick and thin.nThe kitchen was impressively equipped, featuring a fridge, freezer, stove, cutlery, dishes, a dishwasher, and more. The dining table was versatile, perfect for enjoying meals or using a laptop. The living area included a cozy couch and a large TV.nThe bathroom stood out with a washer and dryer, adding to the convenience. They also offer a hair dryer, shampoo  body wash and conditioner.nWhile the overall experience was excellent, I noticed three minor issues: the absence of a door in the shower area, which caused water to spread onto the bathroom floor as shown in the attached photo, the need to manually open the kitchen's trash bin, and the lack of napkins or paper towels.nThe overall experience was outstanding and worth recommending.
