Great free day out!!nnReally cool interactive tasks, we got to pick stick insect eggs out of dirt and got to use a few telescopes!nnReally enjoyed the sections about spiders and other bugs!
One of the most well-known museums in Brisbane. This is a great place to learn more about the history of Queensland and the past dinosaur era. They provide easy-to-understand information and interactive exhibitions to learn more about them. The exhibitions have a nice display and they have a variety of different exhibitions to see, such as the dinosaurs, and many other animals. Definitely recommend visiting here.
Free for general areas viewing. Was worth the time. I could see different ages of animals Triassic Jurassic, age of dinosaurs, etc, sharks , squids, snakes, birds , and stones, and also about the islanders history. They write in detail to understand which species were obtained, whether they were reconstructed or the real fossils. I and my friend had fun.
This modern, expansive museum is a fantastic destination for curious minds of all ages. One of its biggest draws is the impressive dinosaur displays and permanent exhibitions, which you can enjoy for free—perfect for a fun and educational outing without spending a cent.nnFor those wanting a deeper dive, there are interactive science labs and rotating special exhibitions that are well worth the ticket price. These sections often feature hands-on activities and cutting-edge displays that keep both kids and adults entertained and engaged.nnThe museum shop is another highlight, stocked with a wide range of fun and quirky toys, educational kits, and science-themed goodies that are a big hit with the little ones. It’s the kind of place where kids can keep learning long after they’ve left the exhibits.nnWhether you’re visiting with family or just feeding your own curiosity, this museum offers a brilliant mix of free and premium experiences in a sleek, contemporary setting. A must-visit for anyone exploring Brisbane with kids—or a love of science and history.
You can explore the public areas of the Queensland Museum without paying an entry fee, which was a nice surprise. Most of the exhibits are geared more toward children than adults, but there’s still plenty to enjoy. From Australian wildlife to cultural displays, there’s a good mix of things to see—especially if you’re visiting with kids.
