I had lunch at here with a friend and made the most of their $30 special, which includes a meal and dessert. We sampled the beef and chicken burgers, both of which were excellent, and enjoyed the tiramisu and sticky pudding for dessert. The vintage decor gives the place a charming, old-time feel. Friendly service and great value make this spot worth a visit
Really amazing food and atmosphere!! The burger and chips are so nice, I would say it’s the best chips in Auckland! Also the tiramisu is amazing! Nice place for chill and hang out with friends ~Food: 5/5
Had a couple of dinners and a lunch this week while in Auckland. WOW! Menu is limited but everything was tasty. Porkbelly baos were just right. Slow cooked, tenter with just the right amount of spice. Cheeseburger was juicy and perfectly cooked. Good selection of local beer as well as NZ wines. Owners really make this pub a welcoming and friendly place for a bite to eat after work of just a pint on the way home. Will definitely be back
What a great find in Auckland. Michael and Valerie are awesome hosts. Beers were great and food was yummy - especially the fries, which we had several times. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing and wonderful atmosphere with some great people.Food: 5/5
If you're a Guinness drinker, as and Irish man I can firmly say this bar easily has the best Guinness in Auckland, possibly nz, but that's another discussion. The staff are incredible in here, super friendly and attentive in a good way. The food is unreal, agree with a previous comment also about the best chips in Auckland. This bar is a hidden gem. Make it your local
I highly recommend going here for a burger and drinks. The fries are insane! They're so good. The staff are the friendliest, hardest working people in town. And it's a proper old school pub. They put so much love into their food, their service, and the venue itself and it really shows. Can't wait to get back to Auckland and visit again!
A couple of months back when visiting for a concert, my colleague & I called in on a Sunday afternoon for a quiet drink after looking around the city. Within the hour we were on first name basis with the owners and a couple of locals. Time stood still for us as we enjoyed their company, delicious food and beverages. We had an evening that we will never forget. I know that I will be calling in when next in town to catch up with them and see how life is going. Absolula!
Only been open 8 weeks and I know for sure we will now be regulars. So glad we found this place. Me and my partner got cheeseburgers and they were so good! The aioli was the best we have ever tasted. Both desserts that we got we didn't really have room for but we had to try them as the burgers were so good and wow absolutely beautiful. The experience was made even better by the lovely staff. Never had service like it. See you in 2 weeks when we are child-free again!
Visiting Auckland for 48 hours for a short layover and accidentally walked by as the Occidental was closed. Very happy they were renovating as the Queen's Ferry was serving the best burger I have ever had I love exaggerating but honestly, this burger is simple but perfect in all espects; bun crispiness, patty, sauce and green amazing quality overall. The sauce that came with the fries was home made and so delicious. Wine recommendation from the owner was great too. Hopefully I'll be able to visit again right before my flight tomorrow.
Looking for a cool cheap late lunch. Couldn't do better. History, great service, burgers and $20 with a beer Food: 5/5
