Spacious Accommodations with Convenient AmenitiesnnThis establishment offers generously sized rooms equipped with laundry facilities and designated parking. Its prime location provides easy access to a variety of excellent restaurants and supermarkets.nnFor added convenience, the on-site restaurant serves a delicious breakfast.
As we arrived it took us time to look for our room. It was an averaged sized room but it supplied enough. For the laundry my mum called it a hostel because there was clothes already in the washer. I think overall it’s an okay hotel.
Booked the Hotel Nelson for 1 night, the first room we were given smelt so bad I physically gagged and had to walk out, I do admit sometimes I am sensitive to bad smells but my partner agreed it was bad. It smelt like a mix between really bad body odor, cleaning products and a dirty rag to use said cleaning products. I did go straight back to reception who were apologetic and offered to move us to a new room, the new room smelt better Still not great IMO but I think its just the cleaning products used however this new room backed onto the restaurant which meant constant noise, for hours, it did eventually stop but started back up again pretty early the next morning. I believe the noise came from a door the squeaked when opened and then slammed when closed. It got old pretty fast.nnOver-all the hotel is fine, for the price I would even consider it good, the room + bathroom size was really decent and the place felt clean, I just think they use weird cleaning products and don't air the rooms out as often as they could. We would definitely consider staying here again but would highly recommend trying to book a room away from the restaurant, I think one of the far back rooms would have been perfect, its just a shame when our room got moved that we weren't offered this as an option I would have happily paid a bit more, was not expecting anything for freennWe actually had breakfast at the restaurant after being kept awake by it and the staff were lovely and the food was really good for the price too.nnOver-all for the price I do think its good value.
Very basic greeting at reception when checking in and checking out. Rooms were clean and well equipped. However, I don't know about having the smoking area out by the gas bottles....
Stayed here twice recently, room upstairs by reception was lovely and spacious with full kitchen and bathroom. Stayed for 5 nights so was a nice comfortable room for a longish stay. Second stay was in a smaller room at the back of the property but fine for a 3 night stay. Only improvement would be having access from the front rather than having to take suitcase and bags all the way around the back of the room.nRestaurant is superb! Service couldn't be faulted and the meals were amazing.
