The Good: Let’s start with the positives. Qantas Airways has definitely won me back! As a bronze member returning after years with other airlines, I was blown away by the staff’s warmth and attentiveness. On my domestic flight to Melbourne, I traveled as a ‘need assistance’ passenger due to upcoming surgery, and the crew went above and beyond—engaging, accommodating, and even gifting me a bottle of wine which made for a fun early-morning arrival in Melbourne!. The standout service continued on my Bali flight, where despite the aircraft not being a full international carrier, the crew made up for it with their friendliness and true Aussie hospitality.nnThe Room for Improvement: While the staff were exceptional, some inflight features fell a little short. The lack of entertainment options an iPad for movies, tricky headphones was noticeable, especially for an international trip. And as much as I appreciate my bronze status, it doesn’t come with much—one day, I hope to experience the elusive Qantas lounge and maybe even an upgrade beyond economy!nnWould I Return? Absolutely! In fact, I’ve already booked a flight to Japan with Qantas, purely because of the outstanding staff experience.nnThe Verdict: In conclusion, Qantas Airways truly shines because of its people. The service is warm, authentically Australian, and makes every journey more enjoyable. A few tweaks to inflight experiences wouldn’t go astray, but if you value exceptional customer service, Qantas is a solid choice—just don’t expect much from bronze status unless you’re willing to climb the loyalty ladder!
ABSOLUTELY WOW, my first trip to MELBOURNE Au. being a Kiwi I usually fly AirNz. However my daughter from Perth Au organised my travel arrangements. Flight to Melbourne was excellent great smiling friendly service Auckland lounge facilities where excellent as was the absolutely spotless aircraft interior and breakfast. Back to Auckland, the Qantas Melbourne lounge and service was fantastic and the homeward bound aircraft spotlessly clean and a delicious lunch was served with smiles!nI would absolutely recommend QANTAS as the way to fly! Hey! Real earphones, no horrible ear buds THANK YOU QANTAS management and fantastic staff, a fabulous customer experience for discerning passengers.nArthur C. CharltonnWest Auckland
I have to thank the staff at the service desk, especially Carmel, who saved me today when Emriates tried to reschedule my flight for no apparent reason. It's definitely not your job to argue with Emirates on the phone for me, but you did. Thanks again, glad to be going home!
Update March 2024 - the food court area renovations are complete and there are some ready great options for dining. The area looks modern and comfortable. The terminal is still under construction heading towards the gates.nnThe Qantas domestic terminal is undergoing some major renovations at the moment although it’s still functional. The food options are limited because of this but there are some good options. Icons Victoria is a nice cafe with sandwiches, pastries and good coffee. The store also sells productions made in Victoria - wines, liquor, chocolates, cheeses, sweets etc.nSecurity screening hasn’t been upgraded as yet but overall when renovations are complete it should be a nice airport.
Thanks to the Qantas QF35 crew on 30.6.2025. Luke, israt and Lewis made our experience so easy and relaxing. When they found out it was my birthday - I felt extra specialnI can’t thank them enough.
