You're paying for the views, which are stunning particularly when we were there at sunset. The food prices are incredibly high, probably higher than many fine dining establishments but I wouldn't consider the food fine dining. Our shared plate of ribs was delicious but there wasn't a lot of meat too them. Other meals around the table, including the kids meals looked like cheaper pub meals which arrived very quick. We were celebrating a birthday and busy chatting so the company and views made up for the other stuff. Kid-friendliness: They have $15 kids meals, doesn't include drinks or dessert Wheelchair accessibility: We brought a family member with an electric wheelchair and there was space for him to move freely even on a busy Saturday night
The first and last visit to this establishment. Expensive menu. Save your money for a 5 star establishment. $48 for a plate of 8 pan fried prawns, over cooked rice, and salad. Queried the waiter if I had the right order, but a staff member who heard me querying the price to the waiter says abruptly,'prawns have been imported from overseas, so it's very expensive'. I asked if she felt that for $48 for 8 prawns rice, and a flimsy salad was worth it? Female staff members say yes because prawns are very expensive So save your money people go to where you'll get value for your hard earned money. I've posted our receipt and photo of the prawns.
When entering the restaurant, the staff walked around us several times without telling us how if we could get a table. They kept reiterating that breakfast had finished and we were only able to get coffee and cake, which was fine. Still we didn’t know if we could have a table as looking around all tables were littered with dirty dishes. When it was finally confirmed that we could in fact be seated, we waited a further 15 minutes to have our order taken. While waiting for coffee, we watch two other groups go through the same thing. They got table water and waited. Both groups left the restaurant without ordering anything as the service was so poor and their orders were never taken. We did finally receive our coffee and cake. The coffee wasn’t nice, the cake was okay but enough to feed a family of four in one serve. Then when checking out, we were hit with a surcharge of +15% public holiday rate for our trouble. $25 for two small coffees and one piece of cake. We won’t be returning to the Purple Goat.
Absolutely terrible. The seafood basket is all from boxes of frozen good you can buy at the supermarket. Nearly $40. It was just horrible. Salad. Lol. Some grated carrot. One wedge of tomatoes and some mixed lettuce out of a bag The pizza was a thick doughy base .. like a supermarket bought one with too much cheese added and little other ingredients. Horrible The steak was ordered as medium rare.. it was very medium.. nearly well done.. dumped on a pile of chips it’s not enough sauce.. Newley $50. Terrible Feel totally ripped off
Absolutely wonderful place to eat, the staff were friendly and perfect with our service. We Absolutely loved the food it was the best steak meal I've had in a long time, and that view If I could give 10 stars I would! Definitely visit of you're nearby.
Lovely atmosphere and very attentive staff. Food was delicious and the portions were generous. Looking forward to returning again.
Lovely over the phone when booking. Pleasant on arrival. Waiter got 5 out of 11 breakfast orders wrong… Proceeded to argue/raise his voice at us “I don’t know why you sent it back it wasn’t wrong!”. It was very wrong. The robot delivering the food is great if what you ordered is correct. Prices are CRAZY high! The food was nice once received though. Coffee okay.
Lovely location overlooking the boats in the marina at Hillarys with lovely food. Had a table right under the chandelier which felt like the best table in the house hahaha. Had Atlantic salmon which was delicious.Food: 5/5
My wife and I went for dinner not knowing what to expect. She ordered the barramundi with creamy garlic prawns and I got the reef & beef 350g scotch w/prawns. Both of our meals came out quickly and were outstanding - steak, fish and prawns all cooked perfectly - kudos to the chef! There was a very limited spirits selection and both of our cocktails were weak. We also asked for water 3 times and never received it - I had to get it myself. If it wasn’t for this I would definitely give 5 stars as the food was exceptional.
Food was very basic despite the restaurant presenting itself as a more sophisticated one. The cocktails were diluted. Definitely would not be going back. I give 2 stars not 1 star because they tried to create a nice ambience in the restaurant with furniture and decor. If you just want to have a glass of wine, then it's OK but if you want to eat nice food, go somewhere else
