If you’re in the area you MUST STOP HERE! Just like the other reviews say, Danny is an amazing host. He’s hilarious, so informative, and we had the best time. We also camped there at the location and it was beautiful! The one thing to note - it’s more of a liqueur tasting than wine tasting at least it was for us. But everything we tried was good and we left after purchasing 4 different bottles!
A really interesting winery with a few white and red wines but a lot of liquers. The host is very generous in both serving tastes of everything but also talk about the place and the berries and fruit he is using. It is possible to park the campervan and spend a night for a resonable price and with a really beatiful view. Highly recommended.
Must visit. All locally owned and grown produce. Left with an unreal background knowledge and history of Aotearoa and different fruits and their origins. Lots of banter - hilarious! Super rustic and delicious liqueur's. Accompanied with some amazing fruit - grown on the property!
Make sure you visit and be ready for a laugh. Danny is very informative and is sure to put a smile on your dial. Wine and liquor are tasty catering to everyone's taste. Great location for camping with beautiful views. Close to Hot water beach Cathedral cove and Cooks Beach
A MUST-DO ON THE COROMANDEL! Danny was hospitable and hilarious from the off. Unparalleled local and botanical knowledge and history delivered along with a beautiful selection of liqueurs, wines and fresh fruits. Oven-fired pizzas are also available for those in need of a feed. For the campers, both SC and NSC vehicles can park on the property for free with a gorgeous view over the bay. All that Danny asks in return is that you attend a free tasting and spend $20pp on produce. He even leant us a spade to take to the hot water beach - what a man. An incredible bargain and a hidden gem that made our trip!
We visited this winery based on the excellent reviews, and since my boyfriend and I love cocktails, we were eager to try all the unique liqueurs. Just like the reviews mentioned, the host made this experience a 10/10! He was witty and informative. We did our tasting alongside an American family and got a lot of fun insights from them too. We ended up buying six bottles, including banana, honey, ginger, and lime-flavored liqueurs, as well as some wine. Everything was delicious, and I don't think I've ever laughed so much in my life! You must visit this place!
An unassuming gem of a stop. If you are in the area, you simply have to drive up the dirt road and visit. The stories, wines, and liqueurs are fantastic, and the views are outstanding
Danny is just an incredible guy! Such an entertaining and genuine experience. Totally recommend if you re looking something unique and to try a big variety of locally made liqueurs.
MUST STOP! My partner and I turned in off a whim and it was a gift to spend the afternoon with Danny entertaining and providing us with amazing tasting wines and liqueurs, with jokes and history intertwined. If you are looking for a local and family business with pride in their history and area, look no further. In a rustic yet elegant shed on the hill, this was by far the most enjoyable ‘wine’ tasting experience I have had. Just cannot recommend the visit enough. Danny is a top bloke, the sort you’d love to share a beer with. Will be back ASAP!!
Such an amazing place to spend the night as campervaners but especially to taste great products. The owner, Danny, is a great host with lots of stories and fun facts about NZ local products. Such a peaceful and homely place with a gorgeous view of the bay.
