Ordered via Deliveroo on previous Friday night. Food arrived hot. Former Indian restaurants at this address had been excellent Patiala/Made In India. The chicken tikka was tiny, dry, and hard. The palak paneer was effectively flavourless. The aloo baingun was watery and unpleasant tasting. All portions were small and did not fill the containers. I drove to the restaurant and the food was returned with the exception of the chicken which had been spat out into a bin. I was asked to wait by a polite member of staff who said the manager Tareq was on his way to the restaurant to deal with my complaint. After 15 minutes of waiting I was advised by the same staff to leave my contact details and bank account information so the manager could refund me over the weekend. He gave me the manager’s name and mobile number. That was 7 days ago and I have been unable to speak to Tareq or get a refund since. We ordered the same food that night from a competitor in Ngunnawal, and their food was excellent, a complete contrast to Punchforon.
Very bad experience. Food took ages to come and tasted like cooked by an inexperienced chef as there was water floating in the my curries and size of vegetables potato etc was too big for a normal mouth. Waitress was too busy to look after the whole restaurant 4 tables, roughly 9 customers, I asked her to bring me some serviettes and never saw her again near my table. We were waiting for an empty water bottle to be refilled or replaced but decided in the end to leave and buy one on the way. No professionalism in presenting the food or the staff member themselves. NEVER EVER GOING BACK TO THIS JOINT
Found the service is professional and really good hospitality. Many traditional yammi food. Foods are fresh and in time service. Restaurant location and cleanliness is excellent. They are very good then any other Indian red. I use to come here every week with my family and friends. I wish everyone like this Bangladeshi restaurant.
The food is watery and not great value. My son and I love traditional Indian food but our experience with Punchfooron was not great. The portions were small, and the sauces were bland and watery. We ordered two main meals and some pappadams takeaway which ended up costing $45. We recieved containers that were only half full with very few pieces of meat. Not recommended.
I think a lot of you people with negative reviews don't realise this is a Bengali restaurant not Indian so can't really compare the food they make to another Indian restaurant you order from. Although the names of some of the food is the same the way they cook it can be slightly different and therefore the taste different. If it was dry or hard that's different but don't compare the food from this place to another Indian restaurant.
Butter chicken tasted like water with milk . My daughter who loves butter chicken and hates tasty food said it was tasteless . Naan bread under cooked . Vegetable dish with pease and potatoes missed other ingredients as stated on menu also tasteless . I will never order again there is far far better Indian around go else where save your money. Anyone that rates this as 5 stars is clearly a friend of the owner .... left overs anyone I don’t think the dog would eat it
If only I could give a 0 star rating.. Paid $50 for food that went straight into the bin. Ordered the ‘butter chicken’ if you’d call it that, didn’t even taste like it. Also ordered some naan bread, who knew you could ruin that too, was dry and flavourless. Immediately got on and ordered at another Indian restaurant. Never again. Please save your money and order ANYWHERE else.
Delicious food, nailed all the flavours, terrible atmosphere.. the owners child was left to run around the restaraunt while we dined, the child even tried pulling up a chair to sit with us and continued to hit one of the people I was dining with because she wasn’t paying any attention to her. The owners did not even try to remove the child from the table. Our table and another family were the only two groups dining in the restaraunt at the time. A couple even got up and left because the child kept tapping them and taking photos of them on their parents iPhone. When the waiter presented the food he could not clarify which meal was what. The food itself was delicious, although I do question the hygiene of a kitchen that allows a 3-4 year old to run free and touch anything she wishes.
My first impression of this establishment was terrible. The 'kebabs' are just packed containers of meat and roti bread which was a dissapointment. I had asked if it is the 'Doner wrapped kebab that is popular in Mediterranean cuisine and illustrated it, I was told Yes. At a minimum, I was expecting fresh food.. The roti was crusty as though it was frozen and the 3 meat dishes I ordered were dry, lacking quality. Being completely honest, I would have been fine with the meal if it was of much higher quality but I wouldn't reccomend this eatery to anyone. I'm sure it is not the first time they have taken advantage of people this way.
The food was delicious. As close as it gets to being authentic Bangladeshi food in Australia. Didn't try Indian cuisine as I am not a big fan of Indian Curries but Bangladeshi food was 4 out of 5.
