Club Bragg's is set in the heritage listed Sandford House. It was established in 1928 and is also the home of the Public Schools Club.

Story

Welcome to Sandford house, home of Club Bragg's at the Public Schools Club.

Established in 1928, the Public Schools Club has a long rich history in Adelaide.

In 2013, the Public Schools Club launched “Club Braggs” to offer both the Public and Club Members a unique dining experience.

Sandford House sits on the edge of the East Adelaide parklands, offering a unique, quiet and scenic experience to all who frequent the venue, whether dining in Club Bragg's or enjoying a beverage in the Johnston Bar.

As well as the operating of Club Bragg's and the Johnston Bar, Sandford house offers several private rooms which are ideal for functions, conferences and corporate launches of various sizes and are fully catered for by the Club Bragg's team.

The Public Schools Club also offers member ship, joining the Club entitles you to discounted food and beverages. It also the opportunity to use us as your private bottle shop! With access to our members only wine room we have museum wines you won't find any where else.

Lovely old mansion in a fantastic location. Across from parkland, free parking on side street, opposite gate 2 for Clipsal, 20 min walk to Rundle street and the Adelaide Fringe. The Havelock hotel is the local on Hutt street, 5 min away. Hutt strenuous also includes other Cafe and an iga, Caltex.

A great club and a lovely place to grab quality food. The Tuesday night club menu is exceptional

Friends invited us along on a voucher.
When we arrived our host was told he could not use 2 vouchers as they were in the same name. (If he had known he would have bought the voucher for four people or bought one in his wifes name.) They would allow both vouchers if the tables were not together.
This was embarrassing for them and us. We then politely offered to pay for ourselves. This was all discussed at our table in front of other dining guests.
Our host then did some negotiating out of the dining area. The outcome I do not know but found this situation awkward to say the least.
We had offered to bring some wine and was quoted $10 corkage over the phone I thought this very reasonable. On arrival was told it was $15 corkage..well okay.
The meal was very nice. From the share platters to the poached chicken and finally I had the Bragg's mess sensational.
To wait service was very good and the ambiance lovely.
PS.  The coffee machine had been turned off too early and coffee was no longer available. ~9.30pm
I would go back so let us assume this was an anomaly.

The meals are not very nice.  Fish and steak overcooked.  Accompanying vegetables etc are sparse.  Meals are outrageously expensive given quality.  Poorly staffed.  Would not go back there by choice.

Friendly good service, generally very nice food (except on one occasion when it was just ok), very interesting selection of local craft beers and lesser known wines at very reasonable prices, easy to get a table, pleasant interior with pretty parkland views.
