Story

At Proud Henry we are passionate about two things - wine... and gin! Featuring over 80 artisan gins as well as a selection of boutique wines from Australia and beyond, we have something to satisfy even the most discerning drinker. We're proud to regularly host some of Brisbane's most talented acoustic performers to keep us all entertained as we mix the perfect G&T and pop the corks on beautiful bottles of bubbles.

Going for dinner in Chinatown? Pop by and pick up a bottle to BYO - we have a wine merchant licence too.

Oh and Henry? He's our peacock - stop by and say hi sometime!

Brilliant Gin Bar. Staff were attentive and friendly and made our visit very enjoyable. The Negroni was sensational and the range of gins was extremely impressive. Beautiful boutique bar experience. Can't wait to come back
What a Gem of find! Not what you’d expect from the outside looking in as it looks like a regular bar amongst a line up of others but great Gin selection and the lads knew their product which is impressive when looking at a wall of Gin! All the staff were attentive and passionate about ‘getting it right’ and the young musician on the night was amazing! Great night - great drinks- front bar atmosphere very open and loud whilst more intimate areas were available. The secret garden would have been my choice but as it was raining it was wet- maybe next time. Love Henry too - he’s beautiful!

Matthew who worked Friday night 28/06 mixed the perfect Four Pillars Blood Shiraz based Negroni. An excellent place to close the week.
The cocktails are great and the atmosphere is amazing, especially the giant table out the back in the little room. We had extra dirty martinis with so many olives, it was lovely! One of the bartenders was an absolute gem and really made the experience wonderful. The other was super rude and kinda a jerk but they at least gave me a refund for over charging me by mistake.

Proud Henry is a small but busy bar. I like the concept of specializing in Gin and Wine. Unfortunately I think the bar drinks and cocktails can be improved. I came here to experience Gin and taste different flavors. Their Gin flights can be improved by providing a bit more context about their flavor, country do origin and pairing ideas. We also found the food to be subpar and the actual menu was different to one published online. I think this place has potential but is not at the same level as other gin bars in the area or even Brisbane.
Googled wine bars in Fortitude Valley and this came up.... not a wine bar to start FYI. Outside of this, service was good and was able to navigate my palette for gin which at times is unconventional. Staff checked in to see how the recommendation was and if it hit the spot. Also enjoyed reading the responses to google reviews the owner provided - highly recommend! Just to let you know the "jerk" no longer is employed Good work Freddie
It's rare that you meet someone so passionate about what you do. The bartender knew all about gin and made up cocktail recipes for us on the spot based on what we felt in the mood for. Definitely did not dissapoint. Sadly didn't get her name. But thanks for the awesome evening! Nice live music and a great hideaway from the crazy party goers on a Saturday night.
Very impressive wine selection. Very impressive gin selection. Lovely ambience. Very mediocre negroni - which is disappointing from a specialist gin bar.
