Following surgery on the 25th, I was at POW W6S, for two nights. Before arriving I was reading some of the reviews, and I was a little nervous! While I can understand frustrations, it really comes down to which nurses you get, and if you get your own private room.nnI was lucky, I had my own room photo of view attached, and most importantly my care team were excellent.nnI have a few people I need to thank. Unfortunately I can not remember the name of my nurse in recovery who helped me directly after surgery. I was in pain, and it was a blur, she was great. In the ward, Viv and Angela were a God send. Special shout out to Angela who got me through a tough first night. I felt bad for pressing the nurse button on the bed remote so much, thanks for being so accommodating.nnEveryone I meet from the hospital treated me with the upmost care. Thanks again for looking after me while I was unwell, in pain and feeling vulnerable.
I had surgery at prince of wakes private hospital a few days ago and every staff member was so kind and helpful. I struggled coming off the anaesthetic and getting the pain under control but the nurses did everything they could to help me feel comfortable again. The food was also delicious despite me not having much of an appetite. I can’t thank the team enough who looked after me during my overnight stay. My room also had a beautiful ocean view!
I had surgery at POWPH mid May, and had a two day post op admission. I genuinely cannot find fault with any aspect of my care as a patient - from my admission through to discharge. The entire team and process was seamless, all cross checks completed with care and done thoroughly, and every person I encountered was warm, friendly, reassuring, and kind. I cannot speak more highly of the nurses who cared for me on Ward North. They were amazing. I am so incredibly grateful for their care and their empathy in helping me manage my pain and discomfort. The team were outstanding in their care and responsiveness.
I recently had 2 major surgeries at POW Private, I needed a lot of care due to the significant pain I was experiencing. The nurses in Ward North were fantastic. I was so grateful to be in their care. They demonstrated empathy to my condition, and they always tended to me with a smile. Their professionalism and efficiency was 10/10. I’m very appreciative to the nursing team’s kindness and support.
I travelled all the way from Perth to have my surgery done by a specific surgeon and to my dismay, the hospital experince was not great at all. The nurses were cold and rude. I was told my husband could come in to get me after I was taken to the ward. However, after literally 10 minutes of being there, the nurse received a call and I don't know what was said to her. She immediately came to me and asked me to get dressed and that I could wait in the waiting area to be picked up. She literally was standing on top of me all the time and rushing me to get dressed although I was not even fully over the anesthesia.nPlease treat your patients with empathy and kindness. They are there for a reason.
