I've been going to mooroolbark pharmacy since I was a kid. Now 56,still going for the service from every wonderful person working there. Usually only takes 10 to 15 min witch means you can drop in to Brycees next door for a cold one while you wait.
Went to get a asthma pump for my partner but then get treated like crap and got given a stink eye by one of the staff members like I was stupid, kept questioning me with a rude tone just because I muddled up my words and unnecessarily brought a pharmacist with her for no reason I’m guessing because of the way I was wearing and looked I also do have autism which is why it is hard for me to put words together sometimes Treat your customers better don’t bring your nasty attitude to work and treat people like crap. If you can’t handle the workload or can’t handle on having a bad day then quit.
I'm a regular here, I have schizophrenia and multiple other stuff. As I was asked if i wanted this to be my regular pharmacy, expecting some of my meds to be in stock when I come in I figured sure and the past 3 times they have sent me away until the next day saying they haven't ordered my medication in yet, not even an emergency supply or replacementnnIt is now august of 2025 and nothing has changed
My wife and I went there about a week ago to have some documents certified and purchase some vitamins/minerals. For starters the sales’ staff seemed more interested in their own social talk then serving us. I had to stand in front of one for a short while, before she was willing to ‘pull’ herself away from her social chat with another staff member and serve me. No smiles, no warmth, just cold service.nnI guess that is the way of business these days. We tried not to think too much of it.nnThen came the certification. We paid a fee for it and lined up. Then we were called up after we asked around a little—a different sub story. A tall lady stood in front of us as my wife, who by the way was ill at the time and kind of holding herself together, proceeded to fill the required form, which has to be done in the presence of the certifier. My wife explained what she was doing.nnThere was no response. No acknowledgement. Nothing. Just this presence as if ‘I am here, and be thankful I am’.nnOnce done, my wife handed the form to the lady who then proceeded to read ‘her’ section, in what my wife thought was the wrong part of the page; so my wife, trying to be helpful, directed her to the right section.nnNo response, no acknowledgement, nothing. Just this stern presence.nnWhen my wife courteously pressed the point, she finally got a response.nn‘You know, it is quite amazing that I can actually read and write English’.nnI wasn’t sure if this was because she was angry about something; she certainly looked very unhappy, or because this was not ‘profitable’ work we had paid $5; or, god-forbid, because we were Indian; or perhaps she just felt she did not want to be there.nnAnyway, I stepped in and asked her why she was being rude.nnNo answer, no response, nothing.nnBut I think she got the message. She proceeded to fill out the form, with a touch more politeness but still very distant and stern. I then suggested they should charge more for this work—thinking this might break ice.nnNo answer, no response, nothing.nnWe finished up and as we turned to leave, I looked at the customers behind me, many old, somewhat frail, possibly ill, who were waiting to be served, by this lady and her colleagues who seemed not to care one iota about humans, but were simply taking cash and peddling drugs.nnI don’t remember the last time I felt I was in such a nauseating place.nnI guess, when such people think they have you exactly where they want you; and you are entirely dependent on them, they can treat you as they please. ‘Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely’, as the saying goes....nnI’m glad I rely on allopathic medicine so little; and have not seen a doctor in about 30 years! Sadly this is not true for many of the others who were in there.
