Today I watched a kind and clever staff member save the day for a young kid who was having a meltdown because they hadn't been able to return their books into the slot, their sibling beat them to it and returned the books. The staff member instantly clicked onto what was happening and said that the books hadn't scanned properly when they'd been returned and needed to put through the return slot again and asked the kid having the meltdown if they could help. Staff here are always as kind and caring and make the library feel warm and welcoming.

Fantastic local library as part of the Darebin council.  Exellent range of books from non-fiction to children's books.  Their building has dated very well compared to other older libraries with accessible toilets, bike parking, bike repair tool, water tap and good seating and partking outside.

Cute and comfortable library though the wifi was so slow I could not do any research there on computer.

Having council meetings and shutting the library down at 4pm on a week day  is a little bit rough on members happened today 24.03.2026 everyone was kicked out

Has become increasingly unreliable in the past 12 months due to repeat after-hours access failures, reduced hours, unexpected closures and broken water cooler, etc. Such a shame.
