Our Burgers tasted good but the rest of our experience was not good. We ordered off the cheaper burger menu and were told that we could not sit at any of their outdoor seating unless we ordered the burgers which were twice the price because the ones we wanted were takeaway only... As we were just driving through ohope and had driven all the way to this end and were very hungry we decided to order anyway, but had to find a spot to sit and eat them away from this very casual “general store”. This was not a fancy place so it seemed very unreasonable to not be able to sit and eat our burgers at their outdoor tables. Wouldn’t return because of this.

13 dollars for half a container of soggy as bacon wedges. The fish had that old fish taste And was over cooked. We ordered tartar and got a aoli. I came here for a two week holiday to whakatane and had fish N chips from half a dozen other places. Honestly this was the most expensive, and worst fish I have had. I've had better in Hamilton and there isn't even an ocean there. Don't waste your time or money.

Casual, beachy. Great burgers and excellent frozen yoghurts. We were served by Coralee - a friendly girl who looked after us well

Went to get some chips to go with our freshly caught fish, ordered $6.00 worth as I was told the portions are a bit small, got there at 6 pm Sunday 24th ordered, a few people in the restaurant, always a good sign, they didn't seem busy, took about 20 minutes for the $6.00 chips but got them with a smile. headed home (5 minutes) fish was ready sat down opened the pack of chips, took one look, one taste, threw them in the bin. soggy and not cooked, never going back. should have picked up on the fact they stated closing time was 8 pm and they followed me out at 20 past 6 picking up the signs to close. and as for the $6.00 portion about 2 tea cups worth, rip off
