I had such a great time exploring the stunning Port Melbourne Beach over the summer. The view was incredible, the breeze was refreshing and the best part is that it's free for everyone to enjoy! It's just one tram ride away from the city - making it so accessible and convenient.
My favourite city beach. Sun, sea and sometimes sunshine. Doesn't get overcrowded. There are kiosks, cafes and public toilets within easy walking distance along the shared pathway.
Beautiful place to visit all the time. I visited this place in the windy evening. It was good atmosphere then. Roadside parking is available here. Also there are some restaurants to hangout.
It was so relaxing to be there in the evening. The place is stunningly beautiful. Loved staying on the lagoon pier. Friendly, smiling people walking along the beach, and many cute doggies playing around!!!! It was super great!
Closest avaliable beach you can reach from the CBD. It's a very large beach if you include the entirety of it. Water doesn't get too rough here, but as a result of being too close to the ships and mouth of the Yarra, it's got a few problems even compared to the other nearby beaches in the bay. The water quality is not that great because the storm water drain runs literally right off into the water and lots of jet skis and boats come zooming past, so I would not go for a swim with my head below water that's for sure. Also there is a reef nearby so lots of shellfish shells wash up on the beach so if you're not wearing shoes, you have to watch your step both on the sand and in the water. Lots of jellyfish here as well, so if you're allergic be cautious about that.
Look it's a nice place to visit any day. If you're lucky, you may see a ship come in or out from the docks. Seems to be very well maintained and there are Volleyball nets up on the weekend. No waves as it is a bay beach.
Not as busy as St Kilda beach, and I do appreciate being able to sit under the shade on the sand when the sun gets too hot. The children loves jumping off the jetty, supposedly to try to get to the fish Tram 12 from the city will bring you there. It’s the last stop, so you won’t miss it.
Beautiful clean beach. Good vibe especially during the summertime. Beach volleyball, dog walking, people strolling. Easy access by tram no. 1 from the city centre.
Very Pretty along Port Melbourne / Great place to visit!!! Especially if you want to jump on the boat to Tasmanian!! / Plenty of restaurants along the foreshore if you want to eat out!!
Very nice place to relax and enjoy with fresh air and views
